An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at A.S.J. Memorial High School, Thetford Mines, Québec, Canada on 14 Nov. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 15:41UTC.

The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds.

The contact will be direct between NA1SS and VA2VDL. The contact should be audible over Quebec and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.

Andrew Stewart Johnson Memorial High School is a public English school in Thetford Mines, located in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of the Province of Quebec, 100 kilometers south from Quebec City. The school as a student population of 240, St.Patrick Elementary shares the building. Our school offers an English Program from Kindergarten to Secondary 5 (grade 12). As the majority of our students are francophone, we aim to provide many opportunities for our students to speak, read, and write in English in authentic ways. The school includes 25 teachers; Mrs. Lisa Larente is the principal and Mrs. Tara McCully the Vice Principal. Our mission is to challenge our students to be actively participating in their learning.

Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:

1. What does it feel like to return to Earth when you've been in space for a

long time?

2. How do you take a shower?

3. How do you go to the bathroom?

4. How long does it take to get used to life in space?

5. What are your meals like? In a form of a pill?

6. What does the space station smell like?

7. What do you do with your garbage?

8. How do you get water supply in space? Is it re-used?

9. Does zero gravity make you more or less tired by the end of the day?

10. Can you blow a balloon in space?

11. What is NASA currently researching?

12. Is there a lot of trash in space?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.

ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers on-board the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology, and learning.
