An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Istituto Comprensivo "Marco da Melo", Mel, Belluno, Italy on 25 Jan. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 07:11 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between IR0ISS and I3XFY. The contact should be audible over Italy and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in Italian.

Our school is a state institute (primary and middle) and is meant for students aged 6 to 14 years old. It has about 250 students. Its name " Marco da Melo" comes from a historic character ( a painter ) of the 16th century. The school is situated in a wide valley, Val Belluna ( the valley of Belluno ). All the subjects included in the national regulations for this age bracket are taught: Italian, History, Geography, Science, Maths, foreign languages, Art, Music and I.T.. Some technological workshops have been started up for three years and for the students of the last school year with the help of the radio amateurs of the local radio club of Feltre. Themes related to telecommunication are dealt experiments of electrophysics are carried out as well as CW tests. Footage and slides related to the world of the radio are shown.

16. Have you got any free time?

17. It feels more take-off or return to the ground?

18. Is it exciting to know that you are helping mankind?

19. When you working onside the I.S.S. are you afraid to drift in space?

20. What is the most important rule on I.S.S.?

21. Would you like to bring your family with you in space?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.

ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers on-board the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology, and learning.
