I worked Susan Helm on Field Day several years ago. Although the contest had just ended, it was a great experience to work her with 0.5 watts and a handheld as the Station headed out over Newfoundland.

I tried for Mike Fincke during Field Day 2004 as a member of the VE9ND team in NB, but on the TWO prime passes in the northeast Mike's time was completely dominated by ONE operator who was passing technical traffic to him that was not evidently urgent. Let's hope that this time - if someone is active from the ISS - the big guns down here will stay off the air and let the Field Day stations get a fair shot.

I posted the question?yesterday about the availability of ISS on Field?Day because we are less than 20 days away, and normally someone would be asking, sometimes it's the only time when?contacts are possible. Plus?viewing the latest Shuttle Mission info?I realized that there could be a great possibility that ISS can be on- the-air. I remember on FD 2004 I worked Mike Fincke with the KP4ES call on the first pass on Sunday, and on the second the others worked with their callsigns (and were pretty exicted, even have a small video of it).

If by any means the ISS is not on the air, at least will try to give a shot on the other birds, and will follow the info on the cubesats. Thanks again,

Last year the ISS digi was operating in the run up to FD, and there was the usual flurry of debates and arguments about whether such QSOs counted for regular, non-AMSAT FD. Just before FD, they pulled the plug, so it didn't matter. So it is hard to answer what WILL happen.
