An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Ecole Primaire de Larochette (Fiels), Larochette (Fiels), Luxembourg on April 29. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 10:12 UTC.

The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and WH6PN. The contact should be audible over Hawaii and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.

The school is the sole scholar establishment in Larochette (www.larochette.lu). The school is situated in the heart of the village. It has been built at the end of the nineteen-fifties and has been extended at the end of the nineteen-nineties. A small sports hall exists in the school building and a major sports hall resides near the swimming pool (2km away) which is included in a leisure time area. A second building is planned by the municipality and is attended to be finished in 2015.

Pupils have ages ranging from 3 to 12. Multicultural in essence, pupils and teachers speak the following languages: Luxembourgish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and English. The school population is about 250 pupils, 30 teachers, 17 classes (kindergarten and primary school). The Portuguese nationality dominates the multicultural population with 89%.

2. Have you ever been afraid during your journey from earth to the ISS? What was the most exciting moment of this journey?

3. Do you have regular contact with your family and your friends?

4. How long did you study to become an astronaut?

5. What is life like with other astronauts in a confined space?

6. What kind of food do you have on the ISS? Does it taste differently in

microgravity?

7. Can you get sick while you are onboard of the ISS? What is the worst that

ever happened to you?

8. What do you particularly like on the ISS?

9. How does it feel to orbit the earth with 28000 kilometers per hour?

10. What kind of research are you doing on the ISS?

11. Why does the ISS stay in orbit?

12. How do astronauts wash themselves?

13. What is the effect of weightlessness on growing plants?

14. You are orbiting earth in 90 minutes. Is there also day and night in 90

minutes?

15. How do you regulate your time feeling of day and night? Can you specify

your schedule?

16. How many planets do you see from the ISS?

17. Can you see more shooting stars from the ISS than from earth?

18. What is the shape of the stars?

19. Do you believe in extraterrestrial life?

20. Why did you want to become an astronaut?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.

ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers on-board the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology, and learning.
