An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Matsubara High School, Matsubara, Osaka, Japan on 14 Feb. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:00 UTC.

The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds.

The contact will be direct between NA1SS and 8N3L. The contact should be audible over Japan. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.

The student of the Matsubara high school and the member of the Kansai amateur radio league recruit the students from nearby elementary and junior high schools. And they teach the ISS and the radio. These students will make the communication with ISS.

Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:

1. Why did you want to go to space?

2. What did you feel when you first went to space?

3. Why did you become an astronaut?

4. In order to become an astronaut, what subjects did you study?

5. What is worth doing for you?

6. Do you think that the woods, forests and green fields on the earth are

decreasing?

7. Have you ever seen other satellites?

8. What do the stars look like from space?

9. Have you seen a meteoric shower? Is it beautiful?

10. Have you ever seen a UFO?

11. How cold is it in space? What is the temperature of space?

12. What do you do in space?

13. Is it cool or cold in the spaceship?

14. What sports can you do in ISS?

15. How do you wash your hands in the spaceship?

16. Can you watch TV in space?

17. What is the name of ISS?

18. Which do you think is better, to live on the Earth or in space?

19. What do you think of the earth?

20. When will you come back to the Earth?

21. How many times have you been to space?

22. Is the Earth beautiful when you see it from the ship?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.

ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers on-board the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology, and learning.
