ARISS contact with S. K. Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at S. K. Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 3 Oct. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 14:46 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between OR4ISS and 9M2RPN. The contact should be audible over Malaysia and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.
The National Space Challenge program was created to instill the talents and desire in students especially in the primary school Standard 4 level in understanding astronomy and space sciences. This program is organized annually by the National Space Agency in cooperation with Ministry of Education as a part of school curriculum.
Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:
1. What is the hardest thing to adjust to in space?
2. What were your thoughts in the first 10 seconds in space?
3. If you cry in space, what happens to the tears? Do they fall down.
4. How does zero gravity affect your body?
5. What do the astronauts do in the last 5 days before launch?
6. Can you grow seeds in space?
7. How do you handle medical emergencies in space?
8. Do you see any meteorites?
9. Do you think children would be allowed to travel in space?
10. What is microgravity?
11. Can you weigh yourself in weightlessness?
12. How many people does ISS carry and what are their crew positions?
13. Is there a bathing roster in space?
14. If there is an air leak, what emergency measures are taken?
15. Is it hard to eat in space?
16. Do you sweat in space?
17. Can you see any other satellites from the ISS?
18. How many sun rises and sun sets you see in space?
19. Do you have your own room in space?
20. Since there are people from different countries, do you have any language
problem?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.
ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers on-board the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology, and learning.
