An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Nankan 4th Elementary School, Nankanmachi, Tamanagun, Kumamoto, Japan on 21 June. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 09:00 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between NA1SS and 8N6N4E. The contact should be audible over Japan. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.

The Nakan 4th Elementary School is a small elementary school. There are 98 students now. This time, all students of the sixth grade (18 students) will ask to Furukawa. Each student prepared two questions. They are looking forward to the communication with Furukawa.

Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:

1. As seen from space, what is the most beautiful thing?

2. It was heard that the color of the earth had changed because of global

warming. What color does the earth look now?

3. As you know, we had a big earthquake in Japan in March. Can you see the

situation of damage from there?

4. Cannot the earthquake and the tsunami be foreseen by observing the earth

from space?

5. We hear Furukawa is Medical Doctor. What work and research in space?

6. How do you get the oxygen in the ISS? How do you do if oxygen is lost?

7. Can you see a shooting star in space?

8. Are the sound and the voice transmitted in space?

9. How do you see the sun seen there?

10. What kind of room are the ISS? Is there your room?

11. What kind of living thing are the ISS except the person?

12. Can butterflies fly in ISS?

13. What is the most delicious space food?

14. On what occasion, do you think it was good to became an astronaut?

15. Have you ever seen a UFO? Dr. Furukawa,do you believe in UFOs?

16. What does space smell like?

17. How do you change your clothes?

18. Does the star (constellation) change as seen in the earth at each season?

19. What you cannot able to do in the earth and can it do in space? (vice

versa)

20. What is the most inconvenience in the ISS?

21. Do you want to return to Japan? When is it?

22. What is having thought the difference from the expectation because of

going to space?

23. When going to space, what is the thing that should never be taken?

24. Is the news of Japan spread to ISS?

25. We heard the infinity extension of space. Is it true?

26. How do you spend the free time?

27. What color does space today see?

28. What feeling is micro gravity?

29. How do it do and do it sleep when sleeping?

30. What do you do when you catch a cold?
