Sigh. I should add that mailman also manages a lot of internal mailing lists for small groups of us to communicate on different topics. At least some of these other mailing lists become visible when you create an account. However, if you try to sign up for them, the request comes to the owner of the list, and we will not accept them unless you are part of that small group.
Please do not try to sign up for other groups. It just creates work for us. We'll have to try to figure out if we can separate these out and make them less visible and tempting :-)

Thanks for confirming that this is legit…. It would have reduced the concern if Matt had put his call sign in the email (KM4EXS)…. His QRZ Biography states that he volunteers for AMSAT NA.

Folks, I understand your concern. I get plenty of spam too, but listen to Alan. This is real. You don't hear from Matt Alberti very often but he is on the AMSAT IT team. I have done the transition for some of the internal mailing lists, so I can tell you that the bb mail will likely continue to flow if you do nothing. You will need to sign up for any of the following:
- You have email aliases (that is you send from more than the same email
address that you get your bb mail on)
- You ever want to turn on "vacation mode", that is temporarily turn off
your bb mail.
- If you get digests, I'm not sure if you will continue to. You will
have to sign up to change this setting.
- If you ever want to look at the bb archives you may have to sign up.
I hope this helps, and good for you for being careful and suspicious. Of course you don't need to believe me either :-)

Seen similar recently. Very suspect!
Suggest it’s filed under B for bin.
