Hi all! Keep your eyes peeled at hamfests for Bendix King portable radios that are downbanded into the ham band. Saw a bunch of them at Hamcation gone wanting for $20 a piece. Drop $40 (or less) on two radios and two more batteries and a charger for another $40 gives you 5w on vhf and 4w on UHF. These things are field programmable and just about indestructible. Norm n3ykf
