From my experience, you need to run 2 instances *if you want to see your own downlink*. So, two sessions aren't required for a contact, but there is a lot of comfort when you see your own downlink in the second session ;) It also allows you to see if the other station is on the same xmit cycle as you.

Is WSJT-X bidirectional capable (decode while TX) or should I run 2 instances?

Super video, Ant. Many thanks for documenting how to do this.
A couple of quick thoughts: --maybe increasing the CAT delay will help with SatPC32 not always setting USB-D? --for trying FT4 on AO-109, since the downlink is on 70cm, it's a good idea (or maybe even necessary) to set the CAT update rate from the default of 1X to 5X.
Well done. Thanks for sharing such clear information!

AMSAT BB,
In case you are interested in FT4 on the birds and haven't figured out doppler control with WSJT-X I made a video tutorial. Specifically for the IC-9700

The ultimate goal is trying to work AO-109, but a bunch of the twitter crew have been working RS-44. Most luck you will have is with a sked pass.
