I agree.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely that we'll get all 50 active on the satellites and some of us probably couldn't work all 50 (Hawaii remains a theoretically possible but very difficult dream for me). I still look forward to working as many W1AW/? operations on the satellites and on HF (though I haven't worked any yet) as possible and maybe even picking up a few new states along the way (I'm at 35 worked). I also look forward to operating as W1AW/3 from the District of Columbia in early July.
Also, from my reading of the rules, the special W1AW WAS certificate doesn't have any restrictions, so a mixture of satellite and HF contacts could be used to get the special certificate.
