The entire idea is that it's open source... so even if the standard code in the repository complies it will not stop anyone from changing it to be 1 per second or 1 per decade... i.e you get my point.

SInce he's part of the group that has developed the hardware and the code, and since it's open source, it should be possible to have the path and beacon rate set properly, as long as they know what to do.
