And luckily there aren't too many people who are so full of themselves and view themselves as superior just because they have been in the hobby for so long. How dare newer and god forbid younger people come into your kingdom and claim a spot by virtue of passing a test that not by their fault has been made simpler. Instead of parking your ass on the high horse, get off of it and try to educate in a way that's actually helpful to people. I guess that concept doesn't really appeal to you?
What I see on this list is either the old farts wishing back the good old times of AO-10 etc. or the new crop who are simply happy to work the FM birds with a HT and a store bought antenna. Instead of whining that nobody is paying for your next big toy (P3E) to go into orbit why not try to invoke some passion in the new folks. Light a spark for what it really means to let's say work a linear bird and understand it. The attitude I often see here doesn't really help.
I guess your understanding of the ham spirit of helping others and sharing knowledge has been dumbed down in the process.
