Are there any plans to launch more FM satellites and if not, why not? FM birds seem to be much more popular than linear birds. Brad KC9UQR
Hi Brad, You bring up a good point. Many have large investments in equipment especially that Yaesu AZ/EL rotor.Unfortunately the Icom 9700 may be out of reach for others because of the cost. Jerry...W8RQM

The FM birds are more popular but the LInear Birds are more fun to work. You actually have a few minutes depending on the pass to say more than just your call and grid. Jack L. Blake

Good evening...I've always considered working the linear birds a challenge.Especially on the lower elevation passes.I've worked the birds since the 1980s.I first worked AO-7, then AO-8.Mostly mode A.Eventually I moved to mode J.With downconverters for 70cm.I made over 600 contacts through those satellites.I currently am using a Kenwood TS-2000x.And an Icom IC-9700.Im using eggbeater antennas. One for 2m, and the other for 70cm.I've currently made over 300 contacts through the satellites.AO-7, XW-2A, B, C, D, E, F. CAS-4A & B, LO-19.And others as well.I've also made contacts through most of the FM Birds.Ao-85, 91, 92, and the ARISS FM Repeater. And I've heard AO-95Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

One more thing. My current call is AA8WH.My previous call was WB8SCE...And WN8HYX.I got my novice call back in 1965.I upgraded to General, then Advanced. It took over 25 years before I finally passed my Extra.Even my examiners checked. And all of them signed off my application. And I got a nice applause from the other applicants.I didn't think I'd ever pass that silly thing.
