Status of 8 APRS satellite digipeaters
I'm trying to update the status of the EIGHT operational APRS satellites maintained on http://aprs.org/sats.html
145.825; * PSAT2 - Digi and Voice and HF/UHF PSK31 / SSTV /Voice operational * USNAP1 - Bricsat - Voltage Telemetry only - Digi inop * PSAT - digi and HF/UHF PSK31 operational * PCSAT (W3ADO-1) - Marginally operational when in good sun * ARISS - on ISS - inop * AISAT-1 - Unknown * LAPAN-Orari - Operational near equator YBOX-1
435.103/145.84 9600 baud * Falconsat - PFS3 Operational 9600 baud
Challenges: With three known operational birds on 145.825 the chances of trying to make a double hop packet success is improved. VIA ariss, ariss
Ten meter linear (SSB) uplink on 29.481 for PSK31, SSTV and Voice downink on 435.350 FM is underutilized. See http://aprs.org/psat2.html
Similarly PSK31 and SSTV HF uplink on PSAT on 28.120 MHz uplink downlink FM 435.350 is also under utilized.

I've asked on their Twitter feed, but never got an answer if PO-101'S APRS digi will ever be activated. 73Rick Tejera (K7TEJ)Saguaro Astronomy ClubWww.saguaroastro.orgThunderbird Astronomy ClubWww.w7tbc.org -------- Original message --------From: Robert Bruninga bruninga@usna.edu Date: 6/5/21 12:55 (GMT-07:00) To: amsat bb amsat-bb@amsat.org Subject: [AMSAT-BB] Status of 8 APRS satellite digipeaters I'm trying to update the status of the EIGHT operational APRS satellites maintained on http://aprs.org/sats.html145.825;* PSAT2 - Digi and Voice and HF/UHF PSK31 / SSTV /Voice operational* USNAP1 - Bricsat - Voltage Telemetry only - Digi inop* PSAT - digi and HF/UHF PSK31 operational* PCSAT (W3ADO-1) - Marginally operational when in good sun* ARISS - on ISS - inop* AISAT-1 - Unknown* LAPAN-Orari - Operational near equator YBOX-1435.103/145.84 9600 baud* Falconsat - PFS3 Operational 9600 baudChallenges: With three known operational birds on 145.825 thechances of trying to make a double hop packet success is improved.VIA ariss, arissTen meter linear (SSB) uplink on 29.481 for PSK31, SSTV and Voice downink on 435.350 FM is underutilized. GRBAlpha has a 9600 baud digipeater on 437.025 MHz for both uplink and downlink. I've sent packets through it, as have a few other people. My understanding is that it's not APRS per se, as it just repeats whatever it hears regardless of format, but it could certainly be used to make QSOs. I was only able to be repeated when the satellite was at high elevations.

The AISAT continues to be intermittently available. Due to lockdown my VHF/UHF is inaccessible here in India. I will update it in a week or so. - f

Stephen,
what path (via call) is used for GRBAlpha?
THANKS, 73 Christy KB6LTY
Here is what the web page says: Supports packet digipeating on the root callsign OM9GRB.
Let me know if it works Bob
