Has anyone tried remote control of the TH-F6 HT?
We built the interface shown on http://www.misobras.com/esquemas/ham/MOD/kenwood/TH-F7-1.htm
But using hyperterm and typing symple commands we get nothing. We have pressed the menu-9 key and set it to PC. We type a simple command like "ANT" and expect it to come back with the setting in response.
Anyone done this? Bob
Do you refer to something like this? http://miguel.servihosting.com/eb4dka/F7remote.exe If you want the source code let me know.

I just want the radio to respond to my dumb-terminal commands so that I know the interface is working. We want to put on in our satellite and need to know how to command it. Mine does not appear to respond to serial port commands.
If I simply send "ANT", shouldn't it respond with the setting of the ANT command? Or is there some kind of serial string I have to send it to make it start talking to me?
Thanks Bob, WB4APR

You may have already tried this, but I would download the TH-F6 memory utility from Kenwood and try backing up or changing things on the radio with that first. Once the "commercial app" is working, you know your interface is good, and you can then move on to manually commanding the unit. Baby steps =)
