logging program suggestions
Good Morning:
Well, I starting to get back on the birds and realize I need to use LoTW and, maybe QRZ. So, I need an easy to use logging program to generate the proper file for automatic transfer to LoTW/QRZ.. Maybe it could interface with SatPC32 to get satellite, frequency, mode, etc info (I hate typing). Everything is on paper right now from way back to the beginning 100' and 100's and 100's of QSO's. I do not want to go there. Fun to look at though.
Any suggestions?? Thank you.

James,
I've used HRD and have switched to log4om. The switch was due to a new computer. I had been using the last free version of HRD and really didn’t want to drop $100.00 on the new version. Both will link to LotW and automatically upload to LotW (and ESQL.cc). Alternatively you can export and ADIF for upload via Tqsl. LOG4OM is free and very functional:

Jim,
N3FJP will upload to LOTW, eQSL, Clublog and QRZ. I have been using it for quite a while with no issues.

I have used Klog [https://www.klog.xyz/, latest release: https://github.com/ea4k/klog/releases] in the past. It is a cross-OS platform and supports satellite QSOs in an easy manner. Give it a shot, the worse you will be out is some time since the program is free.

Jim,
I use N3FJP AC Log for my satellite contacts. It was easy to reconfigure the layout of the main entry page to be better suited to satellite logging. There are good instructions on line on how to set it up for grid, prop_mode and sat_name, the stuff that LOTW wants to match up QSOs. You can easily setup automatic uploading to LOTW.
I usually write calls and exchanges on paper and then go back after the pass and enter them into ACLog. I use SatPC32, but have not dug into it enough to see if it would send data to a logging program.

Another vote for N3FJP's ACLog program. It makes LoTW very easy to use.
I have KLog on a MacBook that I use when portable, away from home. It works fine for logging, but the LoTW uploading is a bit cumbersome. -- Mark D. I use DXKeeper for all of my logging including satellite. It does interface with SatPC32 very nicely and all you have to type in is the station’s call and grid and it fills in the satellite, frequencies and modes from SatPC32. I will say that DXKeeper has a learning curve to it, and it will take some time to get used to it, but once you do, it’s very powerful and extremely well supported by Dave AA6YQ, the author. And DXKeeper is totally free. I highly recommend it.

You could probably get SatPC32 drive the radio and drive the logging progra Poor frequency and mode with some form of a Software com port splitter. I’ve had mixed results doing that.

Jim,
Do look at DXKeeper, part of the DXLab family. Does satellite logging, both eQSL and LOTW, correctly, and will interface with SatPC32 to get the frequencies, modes, satellite, etc. If you have an IC-9700 it will also handle the spectrum display. There definitely is a learning curve, but documentation and support are excellent. Free.
