Thanks to Frank Bauer KA3HDO we were able to schedule a 15 minute interview with Richard Garriott, W5KWQ, during our live web streaming broadcast of the Dayton Hamvention. Richard has a very tight schedule but if all goes well, we will have him on Saturday May 16 at 4:00pm Eastern time (2100 UTC) for about 15 minutes.
Our video site will be going live Wednesday morning at 0800 Central and you can watch us broadcast our 550 mile drive from Memphis, TN to Dayton, Ohio. We will then broadcast the entire hamvention from the fleamarket. There is a chat room on the site where hams around the world can chat with each other about the webcast and if you have questions for Richard, we can try to ask your questions during the interview.
If you cant attend the Hamvention in person you can attend virtually! we will also be giving away a lot of free prizes to those participating through our live web site.

An Expedition 19 ARISS school contact has been planned with participants at Besyo Elementary School, Saitama Saitama, Sitama, Japan on 11 May. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 1101 UTC.
The contact will be a direct between NA1SS and 8J1KW. The contact should be audible over Japan. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in Japanese.
The Besyo elementary school separates from the Miyahara elementary school (ARISS school contact was success at 2 April 2009) in 1974, and comes the 34th anniversary after founding a school. Koichi Wakata studied from 5th and 6th grade. Also he graduated this school.
Participants will ask as many of the following (translated) questions as time allows:
- (Do you (Wakata) catch a cold? In space, is it cold?)
- (What is most happiest in the International Space Station?)
- (What do you see the star seen from space?)
- (What color is space?)
- (School song of the Besyo has the phrase that is 'Let's advance holding
both stars of the future'. Do you (Wakata) find your future star?) 6. (We have many smell in the earth. Is there variously smell in the space? What smell is there?) 7. (What dream do you have at sleep in space?) 8. (Where does N pole of the compass point in space?) 9. (What difference do you see the earth when for the first time and going to space this time?) 10. (We heard that the bone weakened when was in space. Please teach what you do something because it is not.) 11. (What is changing the body felt most first because it goes to space?) 12. (How do you process the garbage in the International Space Station?)
