Hi All, trying to get back on after a while of not being active. Wondering if there are any handheld preferences and or availability since my tried and trusted W32a Icoms.I used them for a while but sold when I moved. Someone mentioned the Kenwood TH D72 also. Just wondering if anything else for portable. I am using my TS-2000 for linear. Thanks es 73 Joe KI4TZ
I use a Yaesu FT-530. Full duplex and works very well. I've got 200 grids in about six months. You can still get new battery packs for it from third-party sources or just use an AA shell and fill it with your own rechargeables. They come up on eBay regularly. -David, N9KT

To be honest, I disliked the D72 full duplex mode. I preferred using 2 radio's, one being a D74A since it has a built in recorder; less wires for the win.
There is the IC-2730A mobile radio, but if you are already going to have a TS-2000 in portable setup you already have a higher powered radio.
