SatPC32 V12.10 and Win11
Is anyone successfully using SatPC32 / SatPC32ISS with Windows 11? I'm trying to track (position and Doppler) GreenCube with SatPC32ISS and I'm experiencing a slow frequency drift that takes me out of alignment with the bird within just a minute or so after restarting SatPC32ISS. Both V12.9 and V12.10 act the same. Keps are updated. If not a Win11 compatibility problem, anyone have any ideas what it might be? Transceiver is a IC9700. Thanks - N7AY
For what it's worth I also see a slight frequency drift while working GreenCube. I have to monitor the D/L and adjust the drift as I work the sat. Not a big deal to me. I don't see this with the dozen or so other sats that I actively work. I'm also using WIN11 and SatPC32 and SatPC32ISS ver 12.10.

What you are describing usually means that you are tracking a satellite different than what is desired.

MT-CUBE-2 was part of the same launch, and so should be fairly close. There are some other objects from that launch still shown as OBJECT C, etc. I would try those to see if one is a better fit.
I am "retired" from active tracking, so am unable to verify this.

Thanks all for the input - very nice of you.
I studied it a little closer and discover another clue. SatPC32 tracks the Doppler just fine. It's SatPC32ISS that's lost it's mind. If I watch the download frequency in SatPC32ISS update it starts deviating from the correct frequency within a second or two after starting SatPC32ISS. It starts at the correct base frequency I have in the Doppler.SQF file (derived from tuning to GreenCube in SatPC32) but then at different rates per run session it takes off and starts jumping up in frequency in steps way to large, until it's jumping in some cases as much as 10-20 KHz are a time! Obviously, after a jump or two I'm off frequency too far to operate. Most of the times the jumps are small so I didn't notice them at first, thus the drift off the correct Doppler-adjusted frequency is too small to notice other than in the waterfall where the signal starts drifting to the left.
My install of SatPC32ISS is new, I just updated to V12.10. V12.9 was acting the same way. Now I just need to figure out what's making SatPC32ISS lose it's mind.

I tried both sets of elements - neither solved the problem. I was originally and am back to using the set given immediately given below (53106). I'm suspicious there is something corrupted in my SatPC32 install that is making SatPC32ISS misbehave. When I installed V12.10 I used the provided save-backup program and then restored with it after installing V12.10. Maybe it carried something corrupt forward. I might try a fresh install next, unless someone has an idea why SatPC32ISS is doing math like my daughter! :)

Hi Jeff, In SatPC32ISS menu CAT set the interval to - say - 10. Then SatPC32ISS will update the frequencies at the radio for Doppler correction whenever the Doppler shift changed by 10 Hz or more.
Unfortunately, SatPC32ISS adopts the FM interval value from SatPC32 and uses it for FM, but also for SSB. SatPC32ISS makes no difference in this respect. If the interval is changed in SatPC32ISS, this value also appears in reverse in SatPC32 as the FM vallue.
When I introduced SatPC32ISS 15 (?) years ago it could only be used with the 2m FM repeater on the ISS. That will be the reason I set it up back then so that SatPC32ISS always uses the interval value that SatPC32 uses for FM and vice versa.
So, I suppose your interval for SatPC32ISS will be much too high and that will be the reason that you have to adjust the drift
I hope I can soon upload a revised SatPC32ISS that doesn't share the interval with SatPC32.

Yes I am, quite successfully, some hints:
1) Go to Radio Control, use the max. CAT rate your rig will allow 2) My CAT delay is set set to 20 3) Go to CAT menu and set interval for SSB/CW to 50 4) Make sure that you adjust the frequency in doppler.SQF so that on the UZ7HO GreenCube Soundmodem waterfall the carrier is well center around the 1600Hz mark.
I had this problem a few weeks ago and in spite doing above it did not work, I reloaded a old SatPC32 backup and now the frequency is dead on, I can only guess that some SatPc32 files were corrupted.
Good luck
