Please join us in listening to the ISS contact with participants at the Uplands Elementary School, Penticton, BC, Canada on Friday February 22nd. AOS is scheduled to begin at approximately 1936 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a tele-bridge between OR4ISS and IK1SLD in Italy. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. The event is being hosted at Uplands Elementary, a school located in Penticton. Lisa Edwards, Principal, believes that students can “SOAR with a view to excellence” in the right environment. There have been a team of people in the community whose goal is to make the Ham Radio contact with you a part of a wider educational experience that will inspire students & educators to continue to explore STEM & space exploration for years to come. Audio from this contact will be fed into the: EchoLink *AMSAT* (101377) and *JK1ZRW* (277208) servers IRLP Node 9010 Streaming Audio at: https://sites.google.com/site/arissaudio/ Audio on Echolink & web stream is generally transmitted around 20 minutes prior to the contact taking place so that you can hear some of the preparation that occurs. IRLP will begin just prior to the ground station call to the ISS. Please note that on Echolink there are automatic breaks of 1.5 seconds in the audio transmission. These occur every 2.5 minutes during the event. Breaks on IRLP are manual and occur approximately after every third question. ** Contact times are approximate. An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Uplands Elementary School, Penticton, BC, Canada on 22 Feb. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 19:36 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between OR4ISS and IK1SLD. The contact should be audible over Italy and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. You will be talking to students (K-6) throughout the South Okanagan & Similkameen Valleys in beautiful BC. We have students & home school students from Penticton, West Bench, Oliver & Keremeos. An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at 4th Dimotiko Scholeio Chaidariou, Chaidari, Greece on 19 Feb. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:30 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between OR4ISS and J41ISS. The contact should be audible over Greece and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. Our school is located in Chaidari, a suburb in the north-west of Athens. It was constructed in 1978, but it is now being renovated so as to be more energy efficient. It is a two-storey building with 16 classrooms, a Head office and a stuff room. It serves 256 pupils, aged between 6 and 12 years old, from 1st Grade through 6th Grade. It is stuffed by a headmistress and 24 teachers, 12 of whom teach all subjects required in the curriculum (that is: Greek Language, Mathematics, Geography, History, Science, Religious Education) plus two Physical Education teachers, a Music lessons teacher, two English language teachers, a French language teacher, a German language teacher, a teacher of Art, a teacher for Theatre, an Information & Technology teacher and a teacher responsible for the afternoon zone study. There is also a teacher who helps those pupils with special educational problems. The official lessons are in the morning (Monday - Friday) start at 8:10a.m. and finish at 2:00p.m. All pupils attend morning lessons, but those pupils whose both parents work, stay on at school and they study and prepare their homework for the next day starting at 12:30 p.m. and finish at 4:15p.m. Our school has constantly been taking part in various projects such as Environmental projects, Health projects, Music and Sports events and any activity that stimulates and advances the students mentally or physically. Our students have won a lot of prizes and awards, too. Two years ago our school participated in "Comenius", a European program in collaboration with other European schools from France, Spain, Norway, Italy, etc. The project was "Parks and Gardens of our Cities" and all the students were very keen on working on it, producing excellent results. ARISS Contacts Tuesday and Wednesday

Please join us in listening to the ISS contact with participants at the Breadalbane Academy, Aberfeldy, United Kingdom on Tuesday February 12th AOS is scheduled for 09:22 UTC The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and W6SRJ in California, USA. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. On Wednesday February 13th the scheduled contact is with participants at Chief Peguis Jr. High, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada AOS is scheduled for 19:47 UTC The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and VK5ZAI in South Australia. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. Radio amateurs in the footprint are asked to monitor the signals on the 145.80 downlink for signal strength as we are using the back up Erickson radio. Audio from this contact will be fed into the: EchoLink *AMSAT* (101377) and *JK1ZRW* (277208) servers IRLP Node 9010 Discovery Reflector Streaming Audio at: https://sites.google.com/site/arissaudio Audio on Echolink & web stream is generally transmitted around 20 minutes prior to the contact taking place so that you can hear some of the preparation that occurs. IRLP will begin just prior to the ground station call to the ISS. Please note that on Echolink there are automatic breaks of 1.5 seconds in the audio transmission.
