Good day, In your post you mention there is a problem with the Kenwood radio... With only one radio how does this affect the uplink/downlink status of the listed frequencies? I only ask as I have not been able to hear the packet downlink vhf freq for several months. ----------------------------------------------- ARISS is requesting listener reports for the above contacts. An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesu', Rome, State of Vatican City on 10 July. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:36 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between IR0ISS and HV2VO. The contact should be audible over Italy. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in Italian. Created in 1869 through a generous initiative of the Salviati family, and donated to the Holy See in 1924, the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital is now a comprehensive children's polyclinic. In 1985, it has been formally recognized by the Italian Ministry of Health as "Istituto di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico" IRCCS (Research Hospital), and it is now one of the three Paediatric IRCCS in Italy, and the only one for Central and Southern Regions. The Hospital is a reference point in Italy and abroad and it is connected to the most important paediatric centres in Europe and the United States. Healthcare and research. Is it easier on your body to go out into space or re-entering the Earth's atmosphere? 10. Do you ever float around while you are sleeping and hit your head on the wall? 11. What if you run out of fuel on the station? 12. What kind of precautions are taken if the station is severely damaged in space? 13. Do you ever get tired in space? 14. Have you ever camped and looked up at the night sky knowing that one day you would be up there? 15. What scouting skills would be beneficial up in space? 16. What scouts or role models taught you through skills or self-discovery that helped you achieve your goals as an astronaut? 17. What is the most mid-blowing part of being in space? 18. Please join us in listening to the ISS contact with participants at the Scout Canada Jamboree 2013, Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada on Monday July 8th. AOS is anticipated at approximately 1631 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and VK5ZAI in South Australia. The contact should be audible over the Pacific and west coast of the U.S. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. Audio from this contact will be fed into the: EchoLink *AMSAT* (101377) and *JK1ZRW* (277208) servers IRLP Node 9010 Discovery Reflector Streaming Audio at: https://sites.google.com/site/arissaudio/ Audio on Echolink & web stream is generally transmitted around 20 minutes prior to the contact taking place so that you can hear some of the preparation that occurs. IRLP will begin just prior to the ground station call to the ISS. Please note that on Echolink there are automatic breaks of 1.5 seconds in the audio transmission. These occur every 2.5 minutes during the event. Breaks on IRLP are manual and occur approximately after every third question. ** Contact times are approximate. For US schools to have an ARISS contact, they must fill out a proposal, submit it to NASA, and see if they are approved or not. The window for contacts during the second half of 2012 has already closed. Look for the window for first half 2013 contacts later this year. You must go through NASA to get the proposal material. An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Association Intercultura Onlus, Frascati, Italy on 06 July. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 17:02 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and W6SRJ. The contact should be audible over the west coast of the U.S. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in Italian. Intercultura is the Italian representative of AFS Intercultural Programs (New York), an international, no profit,voluntary based organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities and cultural exchange programs throughout more than 60 different countries in the world,involving every year 13.000 students and an equivalent number of families and schools.In Italy, Intercultura is a no profit organisation (ONLUS) recognised by the Italian government, under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.The professional staff of Intercultura is made by 40 people who work in the headquarter of Colle Val d'Elsa (Siena) or in the PR offices based in Milan and Rome.The 4.000 affiliated volunteers are organize in 140 local chapters and offer they voluntary work to promote international school based exchange programs.
