WHAT A FINE MEETING and space seminar we had
today!
Perhaps those of you who were in attendance
can respond with comments about one or two of
your favorite talks or demos. Please also help
me in thanking the presenters ...
I thank you all for your participation, especially
to our speakers:

3. Dan Schultz, N8FGV (1:23 - 1:26)
4. Bob Davis, KF4KSS (1:29 - 2:12)
5. HaoQi "Esther" Li, KI4LJD, a senior at
Thomas Jefferson High School in Fairfax, VA,

Thank you to Bob Carpenter, W3OTC, for his
awesome efforts in helping Martha in the
office for several years, and who made it

excellent technical insight and advice from
the floor, especially to the students.

Dear Esther, KI4LJD,
Well, it was rough making contact but everything
worked out in the long run. We had a full program
going into the meeting-seminar but, hopefully as
you saw, we value your efforts, we want you to
succeed, we are willing to help, and we hope to
see more youth get involved. So therefore we
"made" room for your very fine presentation.
No problem!
Again, please join at lease one of the AMSAT mail
lists (see http://amsat.org/mailman/listinfo/) or
have someone on your team at school do that to
use us as part of your new, growing "network."
It was a delight to have you and Nastia visit.
Most of those in attendance, and more, are on
the amsat-dc(a)amsat.org mail list. Keep in
touch.
Sincerely,
Pat Kilroy, N8PK

Dear volunteers,
This is an all hands call for assembling the cleanroom air handlers on Sat & Sun April 14/15 in Pocomoke, MD! Please RSVP & come help! To be successful, we need at least 8 people. Some jobs will be lifting, some will be sorting (like the fasteners we're using next), but at least we have a certified forklift operator! We hope to finish in one day, but are reserving the next day as backup.
Here's the upcoming weekend schedule:
Sat Mar 24 - Closed. I'll be at the AMSAT-DC meeting in Baltimore.
http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/fieldops/eventDetail.php?eID=259 <https://umesmail1.umes.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.amsat.org/a…>
Sat Mar 31 - Open
Sat Apr 7 - Closed (Easter weekend)
Sat Apr 14 - Open. Please RSVP for cleanroom assembly! bob2leo(a)gmail.com
Sun Apr 15 - Open if needed. Please RSVP!
When open, Saturday regular hours are 8am to 5pm. Sunday hours start later. Email (bob2leo(a)gmail.com) or call my cell to RSVP or if you have questions, 443-783-7794.
I've started to upload pictures at
http://picasaweb.google.com/bob2leo <http://picasaweb.google.com/bob2leo>
Check it out!
After raising the cleanroom, there will still be a lot of work before it's operational. We're looking for an electrician to assist in wiring it. Please pass the word.
And by late April we'll be starting the Eagle mockup for the Dayton Hamfest!
See below for a Google map to the AMSAT lab in southwest Pocomoke:
http://www.google.com/maps?q=Broad+St+%26+Pocomoke+Belt,+Pocomoke+City,+MD+…
The AMSAT lab is inside a large warehouse on the corner with a blue roof. Front door says "MIST".
PLEASE ENTER AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING! FRONT DOOR WILL BE LOCKED!
All help is welcome! Hams, non-hams, college students, younger students, etc!

I recently purchased 5 "CONEXANT NAVMAN ROCKWELL JUPITER GPS TU30 D140" GPS
receivers on E-bay (item 320086778609) for $60. Since five is somewhat in
excess of my needs, I would be willing to sell a few of them at my cost ($12)
if anyone is interested. I can bring these to the local Amsat meeting on
Saturday.
For specifications and software please see

I am working on a small breakout board to convert the 2mm pin spacing to 0.1
inch spacing to fit your favorite breadboard. I can order a few extra when I
send this to the board shop in a few weeks.

Scott - Thanks so much for volunteering. To date, we have ONE volunteer,
Jeff Griffin, KB2M from NJ!!! Where are the locals? I will be sending Jeff
a box for the hamfest. Why don't you contact him directly
(kb2m(a)comcast.net). Again, many thanks for your help. 73- Martha
