I recently purchased 5 "CONEXANT NAVMAN ROCKWELL JUPITER GPS TU30 D140" GPS
receivers on E-bay (item 320086778609) for $60. Since five is somewhat in
excess of my needs, I would be willing to sell a few of them at my cost ($12)
if anyone is interested. I can bring these to the local Amsat meeting on
Saturday.
For specifications and software please see
http://www.gpskit.nl/downloads-en.htm
I am working on a small breakout board to convert the 2mm pin spacing to 0.1
inch spacing to fit your favorite breadboard. I can order a few extra when I
send this to the board shop in a few weeks.

Scott - Thanks so much for volunteering. To date, we have ONE volunteer,
Jeff Griffin, KB2M from NJ!!! Where are the locals? I will be sending Jeff
a box for the hamfest. Why don't you contact him directly
(kb2m(a)comcast.net). Again, many thanks for your help. 73- Martha

It now appears we have NO ONE to handle Timonium on March 31st and April
1st. Would someone PLEASE volunteer to "man" the booth on Saturday? 73-
Martha
I am still look for someone to handle the booth at the Greater Baltimore
Hamboree on Sunday, April 1st. The hours are 8 - 3 but I am sure people
will be leaving earlier. Dave Bern has agreed to handle Saturday. We need
some support in the DC area!!! Martha
Interested in amateur satellite stuff?
YOU ARE HEREBY INVITED to the next AMSAT-DC Meeting
and Space Seminar. The day long event will be held
on Saturday, March 24, in the same hall as last
year, near BWI airport.
Get the meeting announcement at:
http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/fieldops/eventDetail.php?eID=259
and share it with others. Today. Tomorrow too.
We might have one or more presentations from local
folks on them building a CubeSat, of all things!
See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubesat
before coming.
Please mention this event at your next club meeting,
on the net, and gosh, tell a high school or college
student -- and a neighbor too. Y'all invited.
Don't miss it.
Guaranteed to be time well spent. See you then!
Thank you,

Thanks to all the volunteers on Saturdays Jan 20 & 27 at the new lab in Pocomoke!
The airhandlers are almost ready for painting, and the posts are. After inventory, we started to cleanup the place and move those piles onto shelves! It's looking more like a lab each week!
Here's the upcoming schedule of volunteer days:
Sat Feb 10 continue prepping airhandlers, assemble crane if enough people present.
Sun Feb 11 Closed
Sat Feb 17 flip airhandlers to expose the perimeter channels that must be re-welded.
Sun Feb 18 plan cleanroom order: filters, lights, conduit, lexan, bolts, painting supplies.
Mon Feb 19 (President's Day) continue airhandler prep, finish re-packaging documentation for storage.
When open, Saturday regular hours are 8am to 5pm. Sunday hours start later. Email or call my cell to RSVP or if you have questions, 443-783-7794.
See below for a Google map to the AMSAT lab in southwest Pocomoke:
http://www.google.com/maps?q=Broad+St+%26+Pocomoke+Belt,+Pocomoke+City,+MD+…
The AMSAT lab is inside a large warehouse on the corner with a blue roof. Front door says "MIST".
PLEASE ENTER AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING! FRONT DOOR WILL BE LOCKED!
Near-Term:
1) Sand and otherwise prep airhandlers of cleanroom for interior & exterior paint
2) Take inventory of damaged components of cleanroom
3) Paint cleanroom airhandlers & posts (different but both interior & exterior).
4) Plan assembly of cleanroom
5) Make lists of hardware/lights/filters/walling needed to assemble cleanroom
6) Repackage items that are destined for long-term storage (like previous project documentation)
7) Discuss Eagle spacecraft with anybody that will listen!
Long-Term:
1) Cleanroom operational (March)
2) Erect tower for ground station (April or sooner)
3) Build Eagle spacecraft mockup (May)
4) Build Eagle engineering unit (August? This may be pushing it...)
5) Gather all parts, components & tools for Eagle spacecraft frame by end of 2007
6) Build Eagle spacecraft start of 2008!
We will be asking for volunteers most Saturdays in the foreseeable future. All help is welcome! Hams, non-hams, college students, younger students, etc!
