rs-15 beacon informative?

Hello, I have been listening to the RS-15 beacon lately since reading about it having been heard back on the air intermittently. It seems that the beacon might have something to tell us! I noticed today that the rate of keying of the transmitter seems to be affected either by environmental factors, or on purpose, as in having been designed to do this... What I observed is this: All observations were made while tuned to 29.3520 MHz and then down to about 29.3512 to compensate for doppler by the end of the pass... The beacon transmitter was keying on/off about 2 seconds/2 seconds with it's characteristic initial "chirp". This is what I saw during my first time observing it, last week. The difference is that today, the beacon key-down length began to get longer, while it's off-time was the same! There were several 15-plus second transmissions in a row at the longest, then the duration rapidly shortened again subsequently, returning to the 2/2 timing after only a few transmissions. The spacecraft orbit is currently in a non-eclipse season. This might be a good oportunity to learn about the condition of the onboard systems, and even try-out the transponder. I would try it, but I dont' have much uplink power or antenna persuasion to conduct a conclusive test. Freqs

Hello Folks, Having a problem with Satpc32. My freq on the uplink and the downlink display have disappeared. Reinstalling the program brings them back, but noticed when I remove the extra satellites the display showing the current freqs(up/down links) goes blank. If I reinstall the program again the freqs come back. All the rest of the program works. My rotor and cat. Etc. I had this problem before and changed the administrator control and it seemed to work. But this time no joy..... Don...w2xb

I have decided to trade my SDR 1K, 100w PA, ATU, 2 meter transverter, parallel cable, usb cable, external clock kit, delta 44 original and Tony's version of break out box, cables, Heil Boom PL-2T and SM-2, PR40 , one complete UCB kit, one UBC pcb, one ozy, one Janus (new built versions not kits), 2 atlas boards, 2 Pinocchio's. This radio only has a few hours on it, and has 8 months left on the warranty. I have used it on the Army Mars bands with a g5rv. I am really centered on emcomms and satellite work, so this setup is not practical for me anymore. I need an all mode radio/mobile/base ( I prefer Yaesu or kenwood) that I can deploy with. I also have a Hy-gain crank up 52' with a heavy fold over base to trade, pictures can be seen at http ke5eup dot net. I am putting up a 100' tower and I already have a 70' crank up for emcomm, so this one needs a home, all pulleys and winches work, no rust, needs new cables. Why trade? It is just better for me, I am on a fixed income, and would rater trade than handle the money hassle. I am good on QRZ. I didn't come up with the first part about commercial vs. hams; improper attribution. And I said the perfect satellite station location is a "bald mountain" (a high place without trees) not "Bald Mountain". There's also a front page picture with Nova running in the background.
