I've managed to recover a few more FCAL packets from the audio that SatScape is automagically recording for me. I have a number of good candidate audio files that AGWPE doesn't decode, in spite of the audio being pretty strong. I don't see a "pass all" setting on AGWPE, so I presume there are bit errors causing the packets to be discarded. Any suggestions for post-processing the audio with the intent of pulling AX.25 packets out of the muck? RAFT Voice contest: waiting for the first mp3's from outside Europe

These evenings RAFT is very strong over Europe. If you can work the APRS digipeater, try to get RAFT speaking ! Voice Contest rules: 1 point for each APRS message you get spoken by RAFT or ANDE 2 points for each message to another HAM you get spoken by RAFT or ANDE Examples: "DK3WN says Hello Europe" will give 1 point "PE1ITR says DK3WN 59" will give 2 points Enrollment is simple: - email the mp3 recording to pa3guo @ amsat.org (max 200kb, edit yourself !) - attach a picture of yourself/shack/station (optional, pls keep filesize small) - include the digipeated packet & timestamp (to identify RAFT or ANDE) VOICE Contest website with mp3's of current submissions: http://home.vianetworks.nl/users/hamoen/pa3guo/voice.html Waiting for the first mp3 from outside Europe ! AO-51 this week

There are several new pieces of software that need to be uploaded and tested this week on AO-51. Additionally the S band transmitter will be on for an as of yet undetermined number of daylight passes over the Air Force Academy ground station in Colorado Springs, Colorado. These passes will be used for the ground station checkout on S band prior to the launch of Falconsat-3 satellite, now scheduled in late February. FS-3 carries an amateur payload along with its primary science mission. If you find the 435.300 repeater to be inactive, please be patient as we cooperate with our friends at the USAFA as they prepare their station for the launch of a new satellite including an amateur payload, and as the command team continues to upload and test new AO-51 software. More details on the upgrades and Falconsat-3 will be made available soon. 73, Drew KO4MA

ANDE Voice Repeater

Just as an FYI to ANDE users: Although ANDE is much stronger in downlink signal compared to RAFT, you need to be aware that its spoken messages are transmitted at a lower output power. So do not tune up the squelch too much when you work ANDE, as you will hear the APRS transmissions, but may miss the audio/voice transmissions. Good luck ! Henk, PA3GUO ps: ANDE VOICE needs to be enabled by a commandstation each pass, so it will not always be ON. Monitor the traffic.

Dear all, These days RAFT is very strong during its evening passess over Europe. QSL Bureau in the works???

A few weeks ago I posted a request for volunteers to see if we could restart the AMSAT QSL Bureau. I've had a few responses to my request, and a number of us have been discussing this since then. Our discussions so far have been focused on trying to develop an operations concept that we could present to AMSAT for their approval, and we've made a lot of progress.
