I agree, using Pocket Sat+ is pretty easy. I use it on a Clie which is Palm based and it is great. Tie the PDA to your wrist with a Velcro band or strap a little PDA holder to the Arrow boom with Velcro and it's out of the way. If you're crafty strap both the PDA and a digital recorder to the boom and everything is out of the way. Now you have one hand for Armstrong and one for Doppler. Bigfatttail also has a forum for help and if you really need serious support, the author will respond. Pretty cool software! Even a night mode that turns the background red ! Andre N1AJV EL96

Before the pass I use a compass or landmarks to sort of draw an imaginary arc of the satellite path. Once you acquire the signal, simply keep it peaked up by ear, including twisting the arrow to match polarity. This twist also does wonders on the FM satellite uplinks, and is reason enough to use full duplex (among a host of other benefits). AO-51 field day mode L question

I read the article in the journal concerning field 2007. I understand that on the FM satellites only one contact is allowed for credit. Last year when AO-51 was configured for the QRP operation on the second transponder we were allowed two contacts via AO-51. Since the decision has been made to use Mode-L on this second transponder why not allow two contacts again this year? I see no reason for field day stations to make the effort on Mode-L if they can get there one credit on mode V/u. I guess there is a valid reason for the Mode-L on field day. I would guess it would be to motivate stations to use it. Field Day logging program

What are the better Field Day logging programs being used? I know most of the regular logging programs ahs filed day in them, but are there any good stand alone Field Day programs? Our local cub has been using some old DOS program and I would like to update that to a newer easier to use program. Thank you for your help. Dan N8DZM #33913

When one is using an arrow antenna and an armstrong rotator to work one of the birds, how does one have any idea where to have the antenna pointed when and what movements to make to keep it pointed? It's a big sky up there. Eric KG6KQT
