Question on diode symbole designation

Hi All, After many attemps to trouble shoot why a new circuit was not functioning to me I found a diode IN4006 made by ITT wrongly marked reversed i.e. with the white ring printed to the anode side |! This diode if reversed is perfectly functioning and it is a rare one good for collections like a wrongly printed postage stamp. Any similar experience ? 73" de i8CVS Domenico

Hello everyone, I am looking for Idaho, New Mexico, Arkansas, Alaska and Deleware. Can anyne help me with these states? I can work a distant pass of AO-51 on a sked from a hill top for the long ones. AO-51 SSB/FM mode

greetings Thanks for trying the AO-51 SSB/FM mode. It was interesting. I made a few contacts. I noted the audio level was a bit low so it was tough to hear myself on the downlink but I quickly turned up the volume and withstood the load static noise. I was wearing headphones. It was interesting to note that matched uplink and downlink modes are clearly heard on the various satellites. Is it that the narrow band SSB doesnt fully drive the transmitter deviation? Might sound stupid but I'm curious. Thanks to VE3NPC, KD8CAO,N5ZNL,W2NBJ, and KC8ZFN for the brief contacts. 73, pat

AO-51 FM/USB combo

While demonstrating satellite communications to a Radio Amateur visitor at the Canada Sci and Tech Museum in Ottawa, VE3JW made 3 contacts in the new mode while trimming Doppler manually on the USB uplink. A little tricky at first... but great to hear on the same pass Northern Alberta (Edmonton), USA and Mexico. To those whom it may concern, The AO-7 log has been getting "sloppy" of late. <http://www.planetemily.com/ao7/ao7log.php> Therefore I have decided from today, the 25th of July 2007, I will continue to administer and edit the log for the convenience of the regular users. Please remember ... it is designed to be an "activity" log ... not !!! a log to see who can collect the most points so please refrain from entering multiple QSO's on different lines for the same orbit ... because this will then give false overall results. Just follow the examples of K3SZH or G1WPR. If you do make a mistake, please correct it by clicking on the hourglass to edit your entry. You can edit your own entry but not other people's. AO-51 Telemetry

Did anyone copy any AO-51 telemetry on the most recent (00:19z 25JUL07) North American pass? At max elevation, the received signal strength for the voice downlink was S7 at my location (FM29), but on 435.150 beacon frequency, zip,nada, nothing. Any thoughts? 73, John AA2BN
