Since posting this message on the 27th of August, I have received six comments on my blog entry. All six were in support of creating a Satellite IOTA award. I appreciate those that have taken the time to leave the comments however I'd really like to go to the IOTA board with more comments. I will start drafting a letter this weekend to send to the IOTA board on Monday. If you had planned on submitting a response and hadn't had the time or forgot to do so, please take a few minutes and leave a comment. Dragonfly - An Amateur Radio Solar Sail Cubesat Project

SD - NE - KS Grid Expedition

I think I know the answer to this question, but I thought I would run it by the group. I am planning a trip to Kansas this weekend to see my father. I hope to activate a few grids along the way. I can basically take two routes. Route One will take me through EN-14, 13, 12, 11, 10 and then EM-19, 18 Route Two will take me through EN-14, 04, 03, 02, 01, 00 and then EM-09, 08, 18 I live in EN-14 and my father is in EM-18. If you would like to see me operate from any of these grids in particular this Saturday please email me. My current plan is to return later during the week. I could possibly be talked into operating on the return trip as well. I will be traveling with my trusty FT-470 and Arrow antenna combination. 73, Joe kk0sd

I prepared the following instructions on how to obtain a list of most items containing radioisotopes used by the military of the west. If anyone has any information regarding eastern items of this ilk, I would be most interested in. I use this list to help scour eBay for treasure. If anyone here remembers I let out a beta called MERDAT last year for the 2 NASA MER rovers on Mars, MERDAT2007 is in a BETA, no help, but does 3D cyan and red anaglyphs and colour, as well as X-eye 3D and all the data for each JPG image. I would have to say that after looking at all the left eye filters 4, 5 and 6 images the program has made using the MER2RGB method, the sky on Mars is generally blue. 70cm Antenna Ident

Can anyone help me identify the manufacturer of a used 70cm crossed yagi that I picked up along with a Yaesu 5400B rotator system at a local hamfest. The antenna has a 12 foot 5/8 inch square boom (in two pieces), 19 elements horizontal, 19 vertical uninsulated through the boom, and folded dipole driven elements. There are two things that I believe make this antenna unique. The coax attaches to the driven element with push-on crimp terminals (UGH), and the directors and reflectors are held in place on the boom with "W" shaped stainless steel spring clamps that are pressed over the boom. The elements then pass through the clamps and the spring tension holds the elements in place. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for the help. W0DF

We even logged onto PCSAT (it uses the default W3ADO-1 call sign) and configured it for full ops, and then to the end of the pass, it gave excellent signals. Both ANDE and W3ADO (PCSAT) use the default path for the APRS satellites which is VIA ARISS. This is the same as that used on the ISS so that users do not have to switch UNPROTO settings between spacecraft. We will try again on Thrusday during the 8AM to Noon EDT passes. I had the D7 in the truck to a 1/4 wave whip, beaconing every 1. After lunch I checked the list and saw only KB1GVR-9. Not sure if this was from Ande or NO-44.
