ISS broadcasting hours

The ISS will be passing nearly overhead of my QTH in about 45 minutes and I was wondering if anyone knows weather or not there is a chance they will be broadcasting? Is there a schedule online anywhere, a quick google didn't turn anything up. Have been monitoring continuously over VK on every pass however nothing received so far, many stations in VK would also like the opportunity to RX SSTV from the ISS. Cheers Frank VK5MFW

Jamboree on the Air on AO-51, 18-19 October 2008

AMSAT-NA is again supporting the 51st Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) Scouting event by dedicating AO-51 operation to the event. For October 18th and 19th, AO-51 will be configured as a single channel V/U repeater, and all users are requested to standby for JOTA stations. Please limit QSOs to those between or involving at least one JOTA station during this weekend. The frequencies used for this weekend will be 145.880 FM uplink, and 435.300 FM downlink, no PL tone required. The mode change should occur at ~00:00 UTC on the 18th (Friday evening in the US) and run for approximately 48 hours. I'd like to wish the Scouts good luck operating via the AO-51 satellite for the event, and would like to encourage reports to be sent to the AMSAT-BB or directly to me at ko4ma(a)amsat.org. Photo files up to 5 Mb total are also welcome to my address for possible inclusion in an upcoming AMSAT Journal article. 73, Drew KO4MA AMSAT-NA VP Operations

Richard Garriott on Orbit!! SSTV Gallery and Blog

All, Richard Garriott is now on-orbit. Launch occurred at 3:01 ET this morning. The crew plans to dock with ISS on October 14. In preparation for the SSTV activity on ISS, the ARISS team is encouraging hams to upload their AO-51 and ISS SSTV pictures on the ARISS SSTV Gallery. In addition, we are posting late breaking information and pictures on the ARISS SSTV blog. The blog is at: http://www.ariss-sstv.blogspot.com/ And the gallery is at: http://www.amsat.com/ARISS_SSTV/ There are links at the Gallery site to submit your SSTV pictures. And their are helpful hints to prepare for SSTV on Richard Garriott's flight. Just heard Richard's first contact of his mission from the ISS. We're in Orlando and he was coming in "gangbusters". Things are looking good! If is heard him correctly, he said he is working to configure SSTV for the next pass. 73s, Dave, AA4KN
