Hi, A similar note book computer manufactured by HCL ( India) and using Windows XP has been on sale in the UK for the past few months. It retails at £169.00. I have used it for tracking and presentations with a projector or external display. But it has been most useful at many locations with an Arrow antenna and HT radio for satellite work. Also ideal for travelling whether it be by air, sea or land as it can be a useful of way of storing information and photo's to demonstrate etc. It does have hard drive but not a CD device, but that it not a problem as I also use memory sticks which are so cheap these days. HI I put on my web page www.qsl.net/ve2dwe the following SSTV pictures received on Nov 11 on the 2349 pass. I am able to received my own downlink picture and i am looking to ID one picture with a face. KB1PVT VA3VQA VA7YW YV5MM A FACE??? Who is he? P.S. Still don't get any info's on the very weak carrier exactly at the same downlink frequency who is always on between the SSTV transmission? Congrats to Armando, N8IGJ for his astronomical accomplishment. . . . please see his post . . . . it takes a great deal of patience to duplicate his accomplishment . . .I like the marriage of two hobbies . . . . I probably have as many telescopes as I do radios (XYL says too many) . . . a good pair of binoculars is probably the best instrument for someone who is not an accomplished stargazer . . . The ISS is routinely about a magnitude +1 and is a great sight . . . . the Iridium flares are also something I entertain my neighbors with . . . . google : heavens-above for a good site . . . . thanks Armando and great seeing to you . . . . Yes there is a lot of stuff up there . . . more than most people realize . . . . astronomy and satellites : a great combination Jim W9VNE

How to be a jackass, in one easy lesson!

It's really easy. If you can't help, or don't want to help, that's perfectly fine. You can stew in your own bile as much as you like. Some of us (indeed I suspect most of us) aren't so mean spirited as you, and would find it a great pleasure to donate our efforts to help our kindred spirits in their orbital endeavors without extracting the pound of pecuniary flesh that you seem to require. Sadly, my own station is probably of limited utility to DK3WN and the COMPASS-1 team.
