Hello All, I received DelfiC3 19:57UTC (orbit nr. 25). I think I received DelfiC3 a bit earlier than my trackings software predicted. Signals where good when DelfiC3 was at south, at north signals dissapeared. Hello All, There was a low elevation pass in range of Holland (29-April-2008). I could hear the BPSK signal direct at AOS. Signals was somethimes a bid weak (which is normal) and somethimes strong. At 18:29UTC signal stopped direct, maybe mission control team knows why. I could not get data visible on RASCAL because it refuce to accept the audio, the RASCAL audio level meter does not respond. I did select my AC93 soundcard in RASCAL but it does not work. When DelfiC3 was LOS, I have checked PSK signals on HF which decoded fine. The bird doesn't seem to have changed schedule at all. Can anyone else confirm this? Your observation appears to be correct. I have seen this about a month or so after the satellite gets a new schedule uploaded to it. It appears to be a glitch on the web site. AO-27 should be turning on during afternoon passes when it crosses approximately 29 degrees North latitude.

Also tried to listen to the other satellites during the first pass but did not manage to hear anything else. Listened briefly for Cute-1.7+APDII on the second pass but did not hear anything. Concentrated on SEEDS as it was very loud and also I was operating from out of the shack via VNC/Teamspeak and did not want to mess things up. For both passes, object C keps were used. Signals were strong with occasional QSB. Equipment used was IC-910H, 2x15 Element vertically polarized yagi with SP-7000 preamp. Delfi-C3 HEARD over the Delfi-C3 groundstation 08:53 UTC pass - s/c in EMERGENCY mode

Hi all, we just heard Delfi-C3 again over the Delfi-C3 groundstation on the 08:53 pass. Signal was strong, NORAD Object #32786 seemed to fit best, but we are not 100% sure. Judging from the downlink, the spacecraft is in emergency mode. TLE's for object #32786: 1 32786U 08021D 08119.87805543 .00000721 00000-0 10000-3 0 115 2 32786 097.9993 179.9103 0012861 292.3044 067.6803 14.80984919 100 Frequency: 145.930MHz Downlink signal in emergency mode are 2 tones, of 500Hz and 900Hz each, modulated DSB onto the (suppressed) carrier, use USB to receive this signal. These tones themselves are modulated with 100Bd FSK each with raw payload data. If you hear this signal, please record a wav file if possible. Delfi-C3 HEARD again in SCIENCE mode over the Delfi-C3 groundstation 10:30 UTC

All, Delfi-C3 was heard again with solid signals in SCIENCE mode on 145.930MHz BPSK :) over the TU Delft Groundstation. Everything looked nominal again. We seem to have had an issue with our databus, but the next eclipse solved it. Furthermore, we verified the command uplink functionality and were able to talk to the satellite, we even got an on-board database dump upon command. Delfi question

Hi all, I use Orbitron for satellite tracking and get my TLE/KEPS from CelesTrak and/or Space-Track. Whenever there is a new launch, I can never figure out which satellites are "NEW" from the names given on my list of satellites. Does Celestrak/Spacetrak update their data as soon as the bird is launched our should I do it manually? Orbitron has a TLE-NEW.txt file that usually shows the space shuttle launches in a format that I know. (example...STS-123) I hope this makes sense to someone. I'm not sure if I have made myself clear. hihi TIA RoD KD0XX

Hi In a chat session yesterday about DELFI C 3 with Jean-Pierre VE2AHD we are questioning ourselves about the mission length. As per the mission web site (see below) even if the satellite should stay in space for "several decade" the mission lifetime is planned for +- 1 year. As no batteries are in the satellite what will prevent the mission to go where no man has gone before... oups! to go well over the expected one year period? Components failure? this will most likely be the main reason for a limited time frame life expectation? As a cute girl cannot give what she don't have i think there is nothing who will prevent DELFI C3 to live for several years aside of a component failure or a shut down command given from earth. Determining when Delfi-C3 is out of eclipse?

I have a couple passes tonight, but I'm not sure if Delfi-C3 will be in eclipse or not. Can someone tell me? My first pass begins at about 0342 UTC, and the second begins at about 0516 UTC. Thanks! -- Rick

Hello I am not aware abt tracking it as of now, mostly Vu3TYG or Vu2POP should have tried. Hi David, Yes we can rule out antenna squint because the second pass this morning (2217 UT) was very strong horizon to horizon. Nothing heard on the previous pass and VK's report nothing on the next pass so something seems to be turning Delphi off before it gets down this way. Unfortunately all ascending node passes (Today 9:45pm local and 11:22pm local) are all well into eclipse so we only see a couple of descending node passes in the mornings here. Having only heard the one pass it seemed to be in what the control team described as "emergency mode". I had good sync lock but no packets and it certainly sounded much different from the Demo file which decodes perfectly. I havent figured that out yet... I am hand tuning. Delfi-c3 heard!

Okay, finally was in the shack and heard Delfi-c3 come out of eclipse tonight-- 4/29/08 around 02:08 +/- UTC from FM05PJ. There wasn't much of the footprint in the sun, but it was transmitting. No data decoded--by the time I tuned back from its "sister craft" at 437.475/.485 (which I heard some CW) to the 2M side I had missed the strongest signals. In any event, it was unmistakably Delfi-c3 on 145.930 +/- transmitting 1200 BPSK :) Nice job, Delfi-c3 team! 73, Mark L. Hammond [N8MH]

Signals not heard in Northern CA on this pass (on .930 or .870) which should have been much better than the least pass (less trees that way at my QTH). The next pass should be right over Delft and then to my West. Will try then. Maybe they're giving it a rest?? Regards...Bill - N6GHz

Delfi C-3 tracking an keplerian elements

Hi Dave, for satellite tracking I use "orbitron". It's easy to use and freeware. You can find it here: http://www.stoff.pl/ The Keplerian elements needed for tracking can be found on the Delfi C-3 web page: http://www.delfic3.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=93&Itemid=1… Simply copy and paste the 2-line format in a txt-file and save this file as *.txt. This txt-file can then be loaded into the satellite tracking program, for example "orbitron". Don't worry about Az/El rotor. I could receive almost every cubesat on VHF with my general groundplane antenna. Even with my HT TH-F7E reception in the field is possible. You can also download the RASCAL telemetry decoding software from the Delfi C-3 page.
