I will have an AMSAT table at the Radio Society of Tucson's "Desert-
Fest '09" hamfest on Saturday, 3 April 2009, in Tucson AZ. The
hamfest is at the Kino Sports Complex, east of the I-10 freeway on
Ajo Way - the same location as the Old Pueblo Radio Club's hamfest
in October. The hamfest opens at 0600 local (1300 UTC), and goes
until 1130 local (1830 UTC). More information about the hamfest can
be found at:
During the hamfest, WD9EWK will be on FM satellites and VO-52 for
demonstrations during those passes. This hamfest is located in
grid DM42me. If you hear me on any of those passes, please give me
a call. I always appreciate stations that show up and call me
during these events, as that makes the demonstrations a success for
those watching and listening to the activity on the radio.
After the hamfest, depending on my work scheduling for the weekend,
I *may* be able to travel away from Tucson to either the DM51/DM52
or DM52/DM53 grid boundaries in southeastern Arizona. This will
probably be a "game time" decision, and I will post my intentions
here once I am certain I will - or will not - have to return to
Phoenix to work on Saturday evening.
Thanks in advance, and 73!
Thanks to John, K8YSE, for making the effort to activate multiple grids this afternoon and evening (April 1st) that we don't hear on the satellites all that often.
On his way north from Florida, K8YSE/M worked passes of AO-27 and AO-51 mobile and portable from EM90, EM91, EM92 and EM93. I am very grateful for the chance to work some new grids. Thanks again, John. I plan to return that favor whenever I can.
73 to all,

Heard the 1755u downlink tonight 5/9 and recorded on my cassette (K7 if you're francophone!). And converted to .wav too.
Also I have3 sstv pictures from last night ( varying qualit, some distance away from me, over the pond).
Great to see the ISS in full ARISS mode!

Anyone hosting a site for all these SSTV photos? Would be nice to collect them all in one place!
