Hi All
Steve Ford WB8IMY mentions at 1996 QST article (No matter how long you 've been licensed .there's nothing to compare with pure joy of accomplishment !)
I succeeded to upload a 3 messages to HO-68 (HOPE-1) satellite in one pass .orbit # 246 time was 18:36 – 18:55 date 2-jan-2010 at KK65GP. Messages send to my friends

The upload is soooo smooth the packets frames squeezes itself between the FM phone transmition Thorough the whole pass there were many station in QSO's But the satellite hold the packet (as someone hold it breath) and when ever the channel is free it send down the frames J . . Thanks to Camsat for this wonderful Bird.

Hi All,
Congrats to Luciano PY5LF and Pierre ZS6BB who just completed a 2x CW QSO
via AO-7
which is a distance of 7,630 km between these two stations. (GG54jm -
KG43eu)
The mp3 clip shows the short window they had with good signals both ways.
Well Done guy's !!!

Tomorrow morning EST we'll change over to our Kid's Day configuration,
145.88/435.300. The official ARRL Kid's Day window is 1800 to 2400 UTC,
which fits nicely with the afternoon AO-51 passes. Mode change back to
normal will likely be Monday morning EST.
While in the 145.88/435.300 configuration, please yield to any Kid's Day
stations.

Hi,
I am looking to get my station automated again. Years ago I was running
WISP, FT-736, Yaesu Az-El rotor and TAPR Trackbox. It was a really cool
system watching it completely automate the message transfers to the
satellites. Then came along the internet..........
I now use Orbitron and a TS-2000. Still have the same rotor. The TrackBox is
sitting in the garage, but could be brought back to life. I never changed
the proms for Y2K!!!
So, what is the current equipment being used to tie the tracking software to
control the rotor and radio these days?
I am not tied to Orbitron or the Trackbox, if I need to get something else
more up to date that is fine.
Thoughts about integrating my station together again?

> Hi Henk. Nice video. VA3FM had my callsign incorrect, it is WB3CSY.
Hi Rick !
Thanks for correcting !
> It is very difficult to make a contact via HO68 with that equipment versus the other FM birds.
Indeed it varies a bit. Also it matches my own experience, sometimes easy,
sometimes a challenge. Still, comparing it to AO51: yes, AO51 seems easier to work
wrt uplink requirements, although this is not an apple to apple comparision,
as I have not tried HO68 full portable myself. I have done a few tests in reducing
uplink power 100...5 W to watch the effect. Maybe I should have made a recording.
Others also mention the PL tone in combination with a busy uplink channel.
What I like a lot about HO68 (but eg AO7 has the same - I know) is the
relative large footprint, which enables contacts across the continents
(EU/NA, NA/SA, EU/Afrika, ...)
Maybe we meet eachother via HO68 !
Maybe via SSTV ?

Hello and happy new year,
I've just been listening to AO-7. The 10m beacon was off and I couldn't
raise a signal through the transponder. But I did hear the 70cm beacon
and it was only transmitting a constant carrier (no RTTY or CW this time).
Any of the old hands know what would cause this?
