Alinco DJ-G7 Full Duplex

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone on the list could tell me whether or not the Alinco DJ-G7 handi will now work full duplex ? I had one of the first ones and it would not operate duplex due to receiver desensitization and I sold it. Now I have been told by another ham that with the new software download the DJ-G7 should work fine. Is this correct ? Thanks & 73, Ian VE9IM FN75ak

AO-7 is not OK

Some days we are seeing very strange behavior in the AO-7. In some orbits can only hear the feedback on the downlink when the satellite is approaching my station at about 30 degrees elevation, before is impossible to hear any signal via AO-7. Using two pre-amplifier, one in the TS 2000x and the other with 0.6 noise with 20 dB gain. During the orbits we transmiting power with of 30 watts. The satellite does not respond. Tried with 15 watts It was then that we hear at certain points on the downlink audio too low. Its best performance is when the satellite is almost 90 degrees from my station. Yet it seems that the satellite is asking for help. This seems the batteries are not getting enough loads. Or maybe it's excessive use of power by the users of the satellite. Maybe it's time for the users of AO-7 rethink the best ways to keep QSO through it, such as the use of LOW POWER so that over time the satellite is stabilized. Hello All, On June 1 a part of the team ZW8B arrives in Santa Isabel Island. Our intention is to work a greater number of days in the communications via Satellites. Our prediction is that we are still active in the satellites in the early evening of June 1 in the satellites ( AO-51 VO-52, SO-50, FO-29, SO-67 (if active), HO-68 and AO-7 A and B ). It's a good chance to work via satellite, a Brazilian amateur station and a rare grid. We hope to make a grand party of DX , especially for the community of satellite operators. Space Shuttle Retirement -Special Event Stations

Hi all, With what looks like the possible final flight for the Space Shuttle "Atlantis" and just two more launches for the others in the fleet, I had the following thought in mind. Has anyone considered "Special Event " stations with appropriate call signs being set up to operate on the amateur bands for both satellites and HF as a tribute. The "Space Program " together with MIR, ISS and the roles played by the Shuttle have inspired both young and old worldwide. Together with amateur radio they have been the key player and forefront in education science etc and a thrill to many of the younger generation via our hobby. I thought that it might be appropriate, if world wide, " Special Event Stations" could be set up at an appropriate time to commemorate the achievements. It could also serve and pay tribute to the astronauts, cosmonauts and the many key players and teams whom have been dedicated to these space projects that now mean so much to society. Sadly of course many will now bowing out with dignity as their service will no longer be required. The " Special Events " could also further benefit our hobby of amateur radio - and of course satellite projects through public awareness and maybe raising donations or support. Any thoughts? Someone is decoding Oscar 9 telemetry, and I accidentally deleted his message... If he is interested, I have a recording of the last Oscar 9 telemetry before it stopped transmitting at 0529Z on 13 Oct 89....
