I would agree with DOM i8cvs ho68 sked is no good, and has not been for a long time ,in fact ive stopped using the bird,as the passes just are not worth looking at,id like very much to work the states {central} more from the uk,but its not on or the pases are no good...thus ive lost interest...shame! paul 2E1EUB

Amplifier RU-432-95 Problems

Hi, my 70 cms amp has suddenly gone low power (50-60w) and the input swr appears high. where can I get a copy of the circuit do do some fault finding and is this a common problem as my IC821 with a 3 ele yagi does not have sufficient power to get me onto VO-52, Regards Mike G3LGR

AMSAT and CUBESAT: A student CUBESAT group in Uruguay wants to partner with another CUBESAT group to purchase the minimum quantity (150) of triple jnction solar cells from EMCOR. They only need a dozen. Anyone want to team up?

Hi Domenico. (and the group)... Thank you so very much for taking your time to respond to my question! I appreciate it! I too have a lot of equipment I bought just before AO-40 went QRT. I have been holding on to this in hopes that a HEO would be again active. As you know, no luck (same in the stock market lately - hi). I have been active before on AO-51 but find the operation like 50MHz on 50.125 exchanging quick grid squares and nothing else! HEO operation is much prefered to LEO (for me). TNX AGN Domenico and keep up your great contributions to AMSAT-BB!! I try to read them all and study them in order to learn from you. Hi Jeff, This is the email that Emcore answered to me. EMCORE does offer mechanical/visual (MV) bare solar cells (MV cells are not available in SCA's). MV solar cells have mechanical anomalies or discoloration that make them unusable for space. MV solar cells have an efficiency typically greater than 25% at AM0 and 28°C. *Price * EMCORE offers MV cells for $50.00 (USD) each with a minimum order quantity of 150 cells. *Terms and Conditions* EMCORE’s MV cells are offered on an “as available, first come, first serve” basis. EMCORE’s standard terms and conditions for MV cells are as follows: 1. Parts sold on an “as is” basis with no warranty. All sales are final. 2. Quantities offered are subject to continued inventory availability. 3. Payment is required in advance of shipment by bank transfer or credit card. 4. Customer is responsible for all shipping costs (including insurance) from freight forwarding office. 5. Minimum purchase price is $7,500.00 for any order. The standars cells cost $650 (USD) aprox per cell We are searching solar cells or non qualified solar cells for a cubesat to make electrical test. All, I am planning on leaving Thule Greenland on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I do not know how many more opportunities I will have to be on the air before I leave Greenland. We are not flying today so I will try to make the most of my down time and get on the air.
