Forwarded from the Sumbandila team:
Hi guys,
I'm sorry to inform you that we couldn't upload any schedules this
evening. The On Board Computer was off at the beginning of the pass. SO
I had to switch it on and try to stabilize the satellite. I'll keep on
monitoring the satellite state tomorrow, and will resume with the Amsats
once everything is in order.
My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

I have had my SatPC 32 up and running for long time, all modules seem to work fine except the CAT. It wont take control of the Icom910H and track the doppler.
When I designate a particular satellite and click on the "C" for CAT control, the s/w connects to the radio and the Icom receives some bogus frequencies and mods , that don't correspond to the selected satellite (doppler file). I have re-checked all of the configuration setting !! ??? The S/W seems to be talking to the radio, but not with the right frequencies and doesn't track these frequencies once they are loaded.
Any suggestions. Thanks , Bob -kb5yzg tel (828) 696-4103
With the plethora of hand helds available. What are the "best" ones for sats. I have used a W32A no longer in production. My grandson has the bug and I want to aim him in the right direction.

A satellite being built by students of SRM University in Chennai may be launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in September
The primary load on the September launch is Cartosat and this launch is also slated to carry two Amateur Radio satellites STUDSAT and TISat-1. The NDTV report does not give the name of the satellite the SRM University students are building but it is believed to refer to SRMSAT. A description of the SRMSAT ground station indicates it may use the bands 145.8MHz for the uplink and 434.5MHz for the downlink.
An SRM University press release describes SRMSAT as a 15 watt satellite weighing between 10 and 15 kg and measuring one meter cube. The project is estimated at Rs 2 crore and the construction of the satellite is on within the university’s premises. “This project is aimed at increasing the technical expertise of our staff and students and giving them the rare opportunity of constructing a satellite first-hand with ISRO scientists guiding them. We want to prove that our students are worthy of this feat. We hope to launch a satellite once in every two years, of course, with different scientific objectives,” says P Satyanarayana, vicechancellor, SRM University.
