All, I am in EN63, west Michigan, this week (thru Saturday July 31st AM) on vacation & have the satellite gear w/me--this being said, I'm not planning to be active unless I have specific interest from those who need this grid. (Otherwise, I might be heard active from time to time via the remote @ my home QTH in EN62.) Pse email me if you want to arrange a sked via FM sat. We are on Lake Michigan and have an excellent view to the west which provides a good opportunity for me to work low angle passes for those in the western USA that might not yet have EN63 confirmed. 73, Doug KD8CAO Sent from my iPhone

NO-44 working?

It's not loud enough to copy with my dipole, because it's still pretty low in the sky to the north (shielded by hills a bit) - but NO-44 seems to be blorting away quite the thing on 145.825MHz. At least, I can't see what else it would be, unless it's some local mobile (unlikely). Gordon MM0YEQ

Stu -- I run a TS - B2000 (no front panel -- the transceiver itself is on the other side of a wall. I use Ham Radio Deluxe plus - the HRD Satellite Tracking Program (included with the release) . Erling LA4FPA/p was not on the HO-68 pass this morning. He came down with a severe allergy of unknown origin. He was in the hospital with it but now is better. He will be on the last HO-68 FM pass on Sunday, 25July around 1350-1359 UTC. Sunday is a Mode B day for AO-7 and he will be active on those passes as well. Erling reported working VE8EV on AO-51! *I was reading (BB) abt the Kenwood TS-2000, & was wondering is the TS-2000 VHF (Dual band/All mode, & i gather it can be interfaced w/ SatPC32? Is it like the Kenwood TM-255A or the TM-731A? (Which can' t be directly interfaced w/ the computer) Will be looking for replies! 73,.Stu *

HO-68 - FM/PACSAT mode Conventions?

Are there some conventions / governance we should be observing when this bird is in this mode? Should there really be three mode designations in the schedule? * CW/SSB (linear) * FM (voice only) * FM/PACSAT - (packet only) FM birds require good operator discipline - but mixed in with the randomness of TNC /packet emissions seems to just make the situation that much worse. Erling, LA4FPA/p, plans to be on HO-68 on 24 July beginning at 1405 UTC, when it is scheduled to turn on, all the way to his LOS at around 1416 UTC. The footprint will cover northeastern US and eastern Canada. HO-68 is in the FM mode and with its strong signal, qso's should be possible. Erling was on the AO-7 pass today but there were not many takers in North America. He did work WC7V which was his longest distance ever on AO-7. Look for Erling on AO-7 on Sunday when it is back in Mode B. 73, John K8YSE
