FS: Yaesu FT51 full duplex HT

I have for sale a Yaesu FT51R dualband (2m/70cm) HT in very good condition. This was Yaesu's top of the line HT when it came out. It does dual receive, so you can listen to both bands at once, crossband repeat, and it has a built in tone encoder for those repeaters that require tones. It also does full duplex, so it is perfect for the FM satellites. It also has a spectrum scope so you can see activity on other repeater frequencies. Does 5 watts on high power and also has a low power setting. It comes with a dual slot rapid charger, so you can charge 2 batteries at once, and has the proper adaptor cups for the FT51 batteries. It also comes with 2 battery packs. One is a MAHA NIMH pack, and the other one has been split open and rebuilt (I don't know what kind of cells were used). The batteries will take a charge but I don't know how much life they have left in them and I won't guarantee anything about battery life. The HT also comes with the rubber duck antenna, the manual, and the stock drop in slow charger-but this needs the AC cord for it, I don't have that. ALso has the belt clip attached. The HT is in very nice condition and works fine. I am asking $150 shipped for it in the US and can take paypal/check/MO. 73s John AA5JG

So far the Proceedings crew has received two abstracts for papers - thank you! The abstract for your paper does not require any special format. Simply send an e-mail to the Proceedings Editor, K9JKM with the basic information: Author Name, Callsign, and a few sentences that describe your proposed topic. I'll be looking forward to receiving your abstracts in my in-box at k9jkm(a)comcast.net. I will be working these two grids in the CQVHF contest this weekend. So the Plan is to work the early AM passes all times are UTC on Sat from EN28 the AO-51 10:50 and 12:30 passes also the SO-50 pass at 13:00 on Sunday from EN38 the 11:00 pass of AO-51 and the 13:30 pass of SO-50 Other passes are possible if there are no E's. New world best distance via AO-7

Congratulations to Luciano PY5LF and Joe K3SZH for breaking the AO-7 distance record. According to the Tiny Locator program the distance is even better than their claim. The distance is 7,843 km this very close to the theoretical maximum of 7,901 (I seem to recall) I don't think this record will be improved upon in a hurry? Well done ! 73, Pierre ZS6BB

ISS pictures

Two pictures received partially from ISS this afternoon on MMSSTV automatic mode (Martin1), one is the second half of a picture at 1431 utc, 1 the top half at 1433 utc, both appear to be looking out at space. The timestamp on the first image is RS0ISS 20100715T1430Z Locator IO92NL in the UK My view eastwards is blocked by a house... 73 de andy G0SFJ
