Beam Elevation

Hello there. I have a dual band beam in my loft space on a standard East West rotator . Can hear and work the Sat's on it but receive is quite poor. Cant put antenna outside so can someone please advice what sort of elevation I should erect the antenna at for limited space etc. At moment it sits horizontal. Cheers Kev MM0KJG

Diamond A430S15 Antenna Dimensions

Hi Group, First of all, sorry for the bandwidth. I am trying to model a new satellite system for the V/U/L/S bands and wonder if anyone happen to have the element spacing for the Diamond A430S15 yagi. Unfortunately, the manual provides only the individual element lengths, but not the spacing between elements. I have tried searching on the net but unfortunately failed to find any positive results. gps accuracy

In regaurds to gps accuracy , You must remember to give the unit sufficient time to update the correct coordinates . Usually takes one minute of stationery movement to get the correctly display . While searching for survey corners , I was actually walking "past" or "over" monuments because the gps unit was not keeping up with My steps . If You are trying to confirm four courners , It's going to take You several minutes to correctly confirm 4 different coordinates . Just a thought . Jerry WB5LHD

receive beacon in l band and s-band

Dear Amsat members. is there any one who can recive beacon or telemtry signal of amateur satellites in l or s band. if yes please say the names of these satellites. in amsat website " operational oscar satellite status" only the co-65, ao-51 and so-33 has signal in l band but all of them is non operational. is there any satellite out of these names that we could recive their beacon or telemetry signal? iss beacon receive and vhf preamp

Dear amsat members. I have some question about receiving beacon signal from ISS. Could you please help me? 1. What is the difference between ISS, ARISS and ZARYA? Is these different satellites or 1 satellite with 3 name? 2. Which of them is easier to receive beacon from them? 3. Frequency of beacon signal of ISS is in VHF band. Is it available without preamp? I use 2 preamp. One for VHF and 1 for UHF band. But the preamp in vhf band isn’t on. I mean that icom receiver could not supply it. I activate preamp in vhf band in set menu of icom radio. The uhf band preamp on and I use it. But for vhf when I push the preamp button in front panel of icom the preamp writing is visible for 2 seconds and then turned off and isn’t visible.
