Hi all, We understand that the Edusat spacecraft from Italy has been successfully launched today from Yasny on a DNEPR launcher. It has apparently been granted an experimental licence by the Italian Telecommunications Ministry to transmit on 435.750MHz but this frequency was not submitted for coordination by the the IARU Frequency Coordination Panel. We understand that it may only be transmitting when over Rome and that it will use 9k6 GMSK 73 Graham G3VZV

I acquired the FM downlink signal at 0600 UTC and heard part of the diagnostic message and the ID. The signal initially wasn't clear but it improved by 0602 with little noise, strength of at least S8, and no fading. At 0602, the following was transmitted after the ID and greeting: MET = 65 minutes IHU temp. = +41 deg. C Control panel temp. = +56 deg. C Battery voltage = ?? The transmission appeared to stop at that point and nothing further was heard. 73s Bernhard VA6BMJ @ DO33FL

The ARISSat web site shows how to get a Reception Certificate for Voice ID, Voice Telemetry, and SSTV. I have screen shots of the BPSK-1000 reception and CW. How does one claim a certificate for BPSK-1000 reception? Ron W5RKN

ARISSat-1 Heard Over Merritt Island, FL

ARISSat-1 heard on 145.950 FM on Tuesday, August 16 at 2341 UTC. Nothing was heard from AOS to Zenith point (overhead my QTH). I initially thought the satellite battery had failed. Then to my surprise I heard very weak voice ID while it was tracking over Merritt Island, FL. My first try on the arissat-1 transponder.

Hello, I just had a 17 degree pass of arrissat-1 here. On 145.950 FM I heard sstv and international greetings. When the sat was transmitting on 145.950 the transponder was active and I could here myself but the signal was weak. When I couldn't hear myself anymore I noticed the transmisions on 145.950 has also stopped. When greetings came back, transponder was back also. Setup: Yaesu FT-847 with 50 watts. Antennas: 12 element yagi for uplink and 7 element yagi for downlink, both vertical mounted.
