Wow Patrick, Thanks for all the great advise! I will surely check out your youtube videos. For the years I have been a ham, I only did HF and of course VHF/UHF FM. I never ventured beyond that level. I just recently got active on 6 meters and purchased a used IC706 and a Diamond 2 elem yagi for 6. My mistake, I should have got a IC706 MKII, so I would have had 440 capability also.. Live and learn! But really appreciate the advise and I am really looking forward to venture out with this!Best 73KB2CWNFlorida

Thanks Tom, you described it correct. Just like an HF DX pileup, but fun nonetheless. I will one day get an all mode VHF/UHF transceiver to get on the other satellites, but also need a different antenna setup unless I run QRP. Any input on running a Yaesu FT 817nd or an 857d on the SSB satellites? I can use the Arrow only with low power because of the duplexer unless I get a different duplexer that can handle more power or do without it completely. Really don't want to put up an extravagant satellite antenna system on the property right now. Maybe in a few years after retirement.

Wow, you guys have been great, and thanks for all the replies! Although I have had my ticket for over 27 years, satellites are new to me, and your advise and help is greatly appreciated! Sorry to hear AO-27 isn't working, and that SO-50 is the only FM satellite that's operational at the moment. Looks like I decided to get into this aspect of the hobby a little late, and missed out on the other decayed satellites, and all the great contacts to Col. Wheelock back when he was on the ISS. I hope the near future will bring back into space some new FM satellites, and I will look into the SSB Satellites soon. At the moment, I don't have a all mode VHF/UHF rig, but maybe in the near future I'll be able to obtain one so I can expand my horizons even further with out hobby.Best 73 to all and again, thanks for being so inviting and helpful!FrankKB2CWNEL88QLFlorida

current keps satpc32

Hello..how often are new keps added to the download list in Satpc32? I assume the ones of interest would be in the amateur.txt file. Perhaps Eric can make it such that when new keps are downloaded the the ones that were manually put in are not deleted. Or can the manually inserted keps be put in a file that is not affected by downloaded process? Thanks from the digitally challenged. 73 Bob W7LRD

Hello everyone. I am very new at this and I am trying to find as much info as I can. Does anyone know the status of AO-27? I can not find anywhere whether its operating as an FM satellite? I just received my new Arrow II antenna, and hope to meet you guys on the FM sats! Best 73KB2CWN
