K8YSE Western Grid Expedition QSL Status

All requests for qsl cards for my Western Grid Expedition, September 2014, have been processed as of December 3, 2014. If you have not sent for your cards yet please do so right away. Cards received after Christmas may not be processed until the Spring of 2015. Thanks to all who took the time to work me. There were 22 stations worked on the FO-29 pass from DN21/DN22. A few years ago the activity on the ssb birds was such that working 20 stations on a single pass would not have happened. Many have moved up from the FM birds which is an indication that there is plenty of interest in satellites. Once more FM birds are launched, grid expeditioning will be more productive. But even with what we have to work with right now, many are making the effort to operate from grids away from home. This is very encouraging. If you have not tried operating from grids other than your own, please consider doing so. You will find it very rewarding. And don't be afraid to ask someone to operate from a nearby grid. Sometimes that is all that it takes to get them to try it. 73, John K8YSE

JAXA Press Release; Launch Success of H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 26 with "Hayabusa2" Onboard Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency ( JAXA) successfully launched the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 26 (H-IIA F26) with t he Asteroid Explorer “Hayabusa2” onboard at 1:22:04 p.m. on December 3, 2014 (Japan Standard Time, JST) from the Tanegashima Space Center. HAMSAT II Announced

We are pleased to announce that AMSAT India and Dhruva Space Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on November 30th 2014 to pursue the development of a follow up mission to HAMSAT launched in 2005 on-board the PSLV-C6. HAMSAT II is envisioned to fill the gap created by the recent end of life of HAMSAT and shall continue servicing the societal needs in disaster management, amateur/emergency radio communications and education. Some of the contemplated payloads for HAMSAT II include - U/V Analog FM Transponder - U/V Linear Transponder, 50 kHz - APRS Digipeater - Digitalker More information can be found at www.amsatindia.org and photos of the MOU signing under Gallery section of the website. Fox Delta ST2 interface problem

Hi All, I'm posting this here because the Fox Delta Yahoo group seems to be quite inactive and I haven't received any responses that might fix this problem yet. On my ST2, the azimuth indication doesn't stay at one heading. Instead, if it should be on say 210 degrees, it will rapidly change from 207, to 223, to 215, to 205, etc.. Fluctuating within a 15-20 degree range. After being in contact with Dinesh and having replaced the PIC and crystal, the problem persists. Any ideas of what could be causing this? Thanks, Tim K6TW
