I'm just trying to sort this out too. LITSAT is a different satellite to LituanicaSat-1. Which is very confusing, at least to me. LituanicaSat-1 has the name LITUANSAT in the nasa.all kepler file that SatPC32 downloads. It has the object number 39569U, which you can check in the file, and is the same object number as LitunanicaSat-1. On that basis, LITUANSAT is over the East coast right now... Sure it does ... so does the Puxing UV973. BUT - do not get your hopes up that the 8D will perform well in FM satellite V/U or U/V modes. I mean, if Alinco could not get it right at the US$250 price point, I do not expect Wouxun nor Puxing to get it right at the $100 price point. KENWOOD has some wonderful engineering minds working for them. No one has been able to compete with the TH-F6a (non-duplex, but 3 bands each at full TX power) nor their TH-D72a (FULL-duplex ops for FM birds). Clint K6LCS

Ham Frequencies for Southern CA

I updated my "Southern California Ham Radio Frequency List" this week. It has more than 80 repeater systems, simplex freqs, and miscellaneous frequencies that I always have at hand programmed in my demo FT-60R and other radios. The list is weighed towards ENJOYMENT of the 2m/440 amateur radio airwaves! Most listings have URLs to repeater owner sites and/or club sites. The .pdf file is available on the DOCS page at ... http://www.k6lcs.com/ I have been on most of these repeaters, and found them to be open and welcoming of hams. Of course - satellite SO-50's set of freqs are included, as well as NOAA and a couple other goodies. There are some "active" systems that I have left out. This is not an "all-inclusive" list for the Southern California region. If I encountered unfriendly, un-welcoming, or snobby attitudes, then I did not include them ... that's NOT what this magnificent hobby is all about. Enjoy! Looking for reality check. Haven’t been able to hear anything yet. I have verified tracking comparing my SatPC32 to an online tracking site. The two agree or at least seem to. Any suggestions

Pcsat32 doppler problem

I have pcsat32 r= unning under windows 7 to controll my kenwood ts-2000. If i click on a satel= lite, the rig goes to the appropriate mode and frequency. The program then s= tarts the doppler adjustment but the frequency on the rig never changes. If I= turn the tuning knob on the rig, the new frequency doesnt transfer to the p= rogram. I have another control program which works fine, so the hardware is i= ntact, so its something i have done wrong in the set up. I have checked baud= rate, com ports and such and all are correct. 'HAMSAT VO-52' completes 9 successful and fruitful years in orbit !

Dear Friends, It gives us great pleasure to inform that 'HAMSAT - VO-52' is successfully completing 9 years of fruitful services on 4th May 2014 and entering into her 10th year of services on 5th May. HAMSAT was launched as a piggy back aboard PSLV-C6 on 5th May 2005 (5-5-5). We do hope that the contribution of 'HAMSAT' by India/ISRO to the 'Global Amateur Radio Fraternity' has served its purpose. It gives us great pleasure and satisfaction to note that 'HAMSAT VO-52' has remained as one of the most sought after and favorite 'Linear Birds' among the radio amateurs for her sensitivity, strong down link signals, stability and the ease to work. Though expected to work for two years (mainly, considering the battery), HAMSAT VO-52 has really out lived and still doing strong. Latest telemetry indicates all the parameters and systems to be normal and satisfactory. We do hope that 'HAMSAT' would continue to provide her good services to 'Amateur Radio fraternity' for many more years.
