Hi Nico, The NCBR1 stood by QB50p1 in the QuadPack in Platform A of DNEPR. And the object Q is currently very close to QB50p1 ! NCBR1 is certainly the object Q! Congratulations! 73 Roland.

Recordings of FO29 Field Day passband...?

> I have been asked by ICOM to webcast field day this year. Unrelated, but it would be great if someone with a good satcom station recorded the passband of FO29. Not so much to get individual QSO's but to grasp what a full wideband transponder can carry. IE, tune the passband from one end to the other at a constant rate. Then again, and again, and again at the same rate. Maybe separate files for each scan so we can tell when a complete scan begins and ends. This would give those who are unfamiliar with wideband linear transponder operation what the capability really is under FD loading... Just a thought. Bob, Wb4APR

what birds for field day

I've just rebuilt my sat station and was planning to be on for Field Day to give out some contacts from home. What birds are folks planning to use? I assume SO-50 and FO-29. Any others? Jim WD0E

W1AW/9 - IL update

W1AW/9 operations (from IL) are underway. Contacts were made today via SO-50, FO-29, VO-52 , AO-7 and the ISS packet repeater. Tomorrow (Thursday 6/26) I anticipate being on during the morning satellite passes, starting about 11:15 UTC. If SO-50 is on during that pass I will attempt to operate there. (If transponder is quiet, I will switch to VO-52). Immediately following I plan to be on the FO-29 eastern US pass. Then I should be on VO-52 and FO-29 during the following passes (western US) later in the morning. In the afternoon I anticipate being on AO-7 and again on VO-52 and FO-29 in the late afternoon/evening. I will be available for most ISS passes for keyboard QSO's. I will be sending CQ de W1AW/9. In order to have a valid QSO, I need to be sure a human is at the other keyboard, responding to me. I cannot verify QSO's consisting of only APRS information, or automated Signals Heard reports. If you are using UISS put my call in the TX APRS box with a greeting message and I will confirm. I have logged only one ISS contact so far, with KA1OLE. I'm looking for more! Feel free to call for repeat QSO's on the same or different satellites. The more contacts the better! I'm mainly operating phone, but can switch to CW as needed. If anyone would like to schedule a contact for a specific pass let me know and I may be able to accommodate. 73, W1AW/9 - IL (Grant AA9LC)

W5KUB live web cast of field day

I have been asked by ICOM to webcast field day this year. We have scheduled 3 locations that will be webcast. 1. Memphis, 2. Olive Branch field day, and 3. Northeast Mississippi gang in Fulton, Ms. My schedule would be Memphis on Saturday morning, Olive branch on Sunday morning, and Fulton, MS on Sunday afternoon. Because of travel times, I will probably have only a couple hours at each of the MS locations but should have much more time for Memphis. I need your help. Can you find me someone that can speak about field day at Memphis and that person will be interviewed. Also are there specific stations in the Memphis field day you want to show more or highlight? Rick and Damon will you be there and are you planning to work any satellite? I think that would also be good content that people will be interested in. Thanks, Tom W5KUB W5KUB.COM

Field Day 2014

Thanks to all who responded to my query about tracking software. I have another question. I've been ignoring the reflector for a while, and I've lost track of the satellites that are currently usable for voice/cw contacts. After some research, I have the following in my list: AO7, FO29, SO50, VO52, AO73, LO78. Am I missing any? Are the above birds (especially the newer ones) actually available? > Unfortunately, a while back, Yahoo changed how multiple messages about the same subject (even to different reflectors - those are "bundled" into a single message) are handled and, when a reply to any of those messages is sent, all of the attached messages cannot be deleted! At least I have not found a way! Try switching to "plain text" for that reply, and then switch back to 'rich text'. You can delete the unnecessary text. In the compose window in my browser, it's a couple up arrows in the gobbledygook next to the send button. Mouse over it and it will say 'Switch to plain text'.
