XW-2E at 2223Z

Good evening, The XW-2E transponder sounded great at 2223Z over eastern North America. I worked W2JV, KE8AKW, and K8YSE and also heard KX9X. The polarity shifts were challenging to keep up with, but other than that, signals were strong. I don't feel like the signals are much weaker than AO-73, even with only 1/3 of the power output. Equipment here is 2 Yaesu FT-817s, a High Sierra Microwave LNAA146FIL filtered preamp, and a Arrow 146/437-10 yagi hand held (holding it in the hand was very important for keeping up with the polarity shifts). Nothing on the telemetry at 9k6, CW strong on the satellites I had time to monitor. My code skill is POOR at best, but copied references to "CAMSAT" in English, and call signs of BJ1SB and BJ1SF. Does the CW contain telemetry that needs a decoder, or is it in mandarin? KO6TZ

Few minutes ago at 16.14 UTC, QSO with F4EJW on XW-2E. Good signal with a lot of QSB. Good reception for the six CW beacon. ' 73 Maurizio IV3RYQ

Congrats to the CAMSAT team on the sucessful launch! I managed to work KO4MA on the 13:24 pass through XW-2F. As far as we know XW-2F and maybe E have the transponders on, and I can report all beacons on all satellites are on and very strong. I can't believe those things are running 100mw! On the 22:22 pass today im going to try to see if there are any more transponders on, and maybe decode some of the CW. In October we are going to have more satellites than we have to time to work them! Once again congrats to Alan for succesful launch and reception! I will post more updates on what I find. 73's KE8AKW
