Each year, ARISS provides tens of thousands of students with oppor- tunities to learn about space technologies and space communications through the exploration of Amateur Radio. The program provides learning opportunities by connecting students to astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) through a partnership between NASA, the American Radio Relay League, the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation and other Amateur Radio organizations and worldwide space agencies. The program’s goal is to inspire students worldwide, to pursue interests and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through Amateur Radio. Educators overwhelmingly report that student participation in the ARISS program inspires an interest in STEM subjects and in STEM careers. Ninety-two percent of educators who have participated in the program have indicated that ARISS provided ideas for encourag- ing student exploration, discussion, and participation, and 78 percent said that ARISS was effective in stimulating student interest in STEM. ARISS is looking for organizations that will draw large numbers of participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed education plan. Students can learn about satellite communications, wireless technology, science research conducted on the space station, what it is like to work in space, radio science, and any related STEM subject. CAS-4A & 4B transponders are excellent

I was able to hear my voice through CAS-4A and 4B transponders tonight under one degree of elevation using ~5 watts into 10' of LMR-240uf and a 4 element 70cm / 2 element 2m "Short Arrow" yagi. Very easy satellite to work with minimal power. 73 Clayton W5PFG

Hello all, Could anyone identify what the pumping hash sound is on the enclosed .wav file ? I get this sound on NOAA 15, 18 and 19. Just getting start on this. Have simple 137 MHz tuned dipole shaped in a V pointing North and South as per the directions. Thank-you. Michael – N8iup

Michelangelo Buonarroti, Marina di Carrara, Italy on 21 Oct. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 09:31 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between IR0ISS and each school station, IQ5VR then I6KZR. The contact should be audible over Italy and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in Italian. School Information: Istituto Scolastico Comprensivo "Nardi" It hosts about 450 students, for a total of 19 classes, placed on two school placements, one north and one south of town. A section have a musical address and the students study a musical instrument, in addition to the regular daily curriculum, one of the activities that accompany the individual study of an instrument, the boys play in the orchestra and this activity particularly promotes the cohesion of the group and offers A social alternative. The "middle school" age group requires a special commitment and expose itself to a charge of empathy such as to pass on our children the passion for knowledge, study and curiosity towards everything that is being presented to us. Our school is very committed to the issues surrounding the environment, research and scientific evolution, communication and legality. Large space is reserved for languages: music, motor, chart through multimedia equipment and radio. It actively collaborates with the various educational agencies of the territory and with the local body that allow us to expand our training offer and favor the social development of our boys. I.C. CAS-4A and CAS-4B

Worked KB6LTY on both CAS-4A and CAS-4B this morning with very strong signals even though I only had a 1 degree max elevation pass on CAS-4b and a max elevation of 4 degrees on CAS-4A.
