I was asked to pass this along: Sirs, next June 23-25, PT2AP and PT2AZ will attempt to activate the GRIDs GH55 / GH56 / GH65 and GH66 simultaneously, Calling North America, South America, Europe and Africa, in Satellite operation. It is not yet certain, because we need the authorization of the owner of the Farm, which we will only know when we get there. But at least one of these GRIDs is certain of the activation. We probably will not have phone coverage, and we'll be "in the dark" ... We will try to activate the SO-50 , FO-29, AO-7, AO-85 ... Look for PT2AP-9, on APRS tracker, on the days of activation ... SatPC32 questions, Part 1

I have a fully registered version, but I am still limited to 12 satellites? When I click on the "V" on the left and make it "V+" so that I can correct the uplink and downlink frequencies, I try to change the frequency using the up and down arrows under the 20, 100, 500, 1k and 5k labels. But it only changes the downlink. Why? Once I can hear my downlink and I toggle the "V" back to "V-" then how do I save the corrected frequencies to Doppler.SQF What if I want to use SatPC32 to tune around the passband and look for other stations? What are the steps for that? I want the Countdown window to attach to the right. It does that on one computer, but attaches to the left on another. I am using my FT817, and have the CAT working. When listening to FO-29, I try to tune the VFO but it keeps putting me back on the frequency shown in SatPC32. Another weird behavior...in CAT control mode, it keeps jumping between uplink and downlink frequencies. How do I stop this? Is that the special FT817 configuration I need to use? APRS FD contacts (between satellites)

Between satellite contacts, Don’t forget APRS at Field day too. Have fun! Independent of scoring (APRS gets no respect at FD anyway)… it is still a good time to play APRS radio and make contacts. Who cares about points when there are so many people on the air! Remember CQSRVR lets you call CQ everywhere in the world from your APRS radio out in the field. Just send a message to CQSRVR with the first two words as CQ FD followed by your info. Everyone else in the world who has also sent such a message is automatically logged into the CQSRVR and will get a copy. Once you have sent yours, then you too will get a copy of all future such messages from everyone else. CQSRVR just makes the global CQ to everyone else. Jeff and Paul, The way I read ARRL FD rule 7.3.7, each satellite is a separate "band," though you can make only one QSO on each FM satellite (unlimited on non-FM sats). Only one 100-point bonus, though. Look for me from WE7GV on FO-29 and possibly AO-7. 73 Ray W2RS

SatPC32 Doppler Correction/Calibration?

I'm trying to get the doppler correction/calibration set up for the various birds before Field Day, but I'm just not making any tangible progress. I've got a pair of Yaesu FT-817ND rigs, and can successfully tune both of them with SatPC32's CAT controls. Following the directions for a two-rig calibration process, I've been catching the XW-2* birds and can occasionally get the downlink correction set to where I can hear myself on the downlink. In a couple of cases I've made note of where that downlink calibration was near mid-pass (the necessary correction changed constantly across the pass). Then I go into the CAT menu, set the downlink correction to zero and the uplink calibration to the opposite sign of the previously found downlink correction at mid-pass. For example on a recent pass of XW-2C I found a downlink correction of -160 Hz was working well near mid-pass (I could hear myself) so I set the uplink calibration to 160 Hz. The "Upl. Calibr." window in the CAT pop-up says "160", and the grey box above the uplink frequency in the main window also says "160". I click on the "Change/Store Dataf File" button, then click on the "Store" "Uplink Calibration" button on the next pop-up. It says "The changings have been stored!" but the uplink calibration in both the first popup and the main window are back to zero. I click the X to close both pop-ups, and uplink correction in the main window is still 0. I exit the program, restart it, select XW-2C, enable CAT (C+) and the uplink calibration is still on zero.
