FT2DR and Falconsat-3

Happy 4th everyone. My XYL ordered me a Yaesu FT2DR for my birthday. Apparently, all of the whining I've been doing pertaining to not being able to work the 9600 baud APRS gave her an idea for me. Question....is anyone using the 2DR for this? How do you like the 2DR if you do??? TNX!! John KB2HSH FN02nx

Field Day Submissions

Time is drawing near. If your group has not submitted your results for Field Day, Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:59 PM Central Time is the deadline. This is earlier than the due date for the ARRL. When I receive your submission, I WILL send you a reply stating I have them. If you do not receive the reply, send them again. InstantTrack or similar usable on Win 10

I was wanting to describe to some folks I am doing a satellite demonstration for next week, about how some satellites have stable sun-synchronous orbits while others process earlier each day. The old DOS program, InstantTrack, that most likely will not work under the Windows 10/64 bit world had a nice display of this behavior, Are there any recommendations for a more modern application that will do the same type of thing? If you are not familiar with what I am talking about, look at page SO-3 in the current "Getting Started." book from AMSAT (As well as on earlier pages) to see what I am looking for. A web search shows that it should be in the AMSAT software archives but the page link for that particular software is broken. It is a nice planning utility, especially for birds that do change times each day. Tom Schuessler, N5HYP EM12ms

working packet sats

I have played with no-84 psat digi , i seem to hit it sometimes but really hard to hear it. and NEVER decode my packets repeated...seems like it digi's so fast i dont recover fast enough to hear them,,, perhaps ssb 2m preamp relay delay is a factor? do i need to hard wire the preamp relay to the rig ( ts2000) to over this delay ?thxbrad ko6kL please delete the old text below your answer ....

About fireworks: during first ARISS contact in mission Horizon, last week, Gerst was asked about fireworks at 31.12 (question #6). A German friend transladed for me: Alex never went on ISS during last eve night, but when he flies over Italy in summer he can see fireworks in touristic areas. Hello, your is an enormous work. I'm a teacher, I had two ariss contacts and I really love this program. Have mentors considered to ask schools to give ARISS a file with the answers? Every school have a registration and if any coordinatinating teacher does this work, it could be posted on ARISS website to share. I'm here if you ask me I'll send mine. Thank you for what you do!
