An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Indian Trails Middle School, Winter Springs, FL on 27 Sept. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 17:52 UTC. It is recommended that you start listening approximately 10 minutes before this time.The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and VK4KHZ. The contact should be audible over portions of Australia and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. Indian Trails Middle School is a 6th through 8th grade Seminole County public Middle School located in Winter Springs Florida. The school is a 5 Star rated with exemplary community involvement. As a recipient of the Gold and Silver Awards, the school has demonstrated exemplary involvement in volunteer programs. Indian Trails Middle School has a student body of 1246 students. Students strive for excellence in academics, arts, physical fitness and future ready skills. A staff of 94 teachers, administrators, and support personnel pride themselves on instilling these skills and values in our students. Students are offered over 20 different elective choices to broaden their minds to numerous opportunities while developing a strong academic core. Upcoming ARISS contact with Obie Elementary School, Kurashiki, Japan

An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Obie Elementary School, Kurashiki, Japan on 26 Sept. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 08:47 UTC. The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between NA1SS and 8N4KLO. The contact should be audible over Japan and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English. More than 50 years have passed since the establishment of the Kurashiki Municipal Government was formed. The city now boasts over 65 primary schools. Obie primary school has a certain history and tradition that has formed over the last 144 years since its establishment. The school area and surrounding community was founded during the Edo period when much of the land in the area around Kurashiki was being reclaimed. During this time, the Obie community was a village of small urban farms with many reticulated canals for rice paddy irrigation. Recently, the area has transformed into an urban residential area. Obie is close to the city centre, about 4.5km from Kurashiki station, and about 3km from the local city hall. Infrastructure around the area is well designed. The Route 2 highway going east-west is just 150m north of the school, making the area accessible. Furthermore, connecting to the Seto-Chuo highway that runs from the main island of Honshu to the island of Shikoku is also possible. The school has recognized a certain expectation from local residents regarding the school's education and has a very positive relationship with the community through activities such as the school PTA gatherings and various local kids clubs. Obie primary students are considerate, well mannered, and kind hearted. Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows: 1. MacDopler

Guys, New to Macs, new to the ICOM 910H and new to auto Doppler control. So this should be fun... I have the Doppler correction working. Both the up and the down go the way they should. The software is communicating with the radio, and everything is wonderful, but I can't for the life of me see how to move to another spot on the passband. I move the radio dial and it goes right back to the middle of the passband. When I try to adjust the frequency in the software, nothing moves, I'm stumped here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. AMSAT demo in Phoenix AZ this (Monday, 24 Sept) afternoon...

Hi! I will be working SSB, FM, and ISS passes from Mountain Vista Park, a Phoenix city park along the I-10 freeway north of Ray Road in grid DM43ah, for an impromptu AMSAT satellite demonstration later today. I should be on passes starting after 2300 UTC (4pm PDT/7pm EDT) today, for 2 to possibly 3 hours. There are a few SSB satellites, along with AO-85 in FM and the ISS with its 145.825 MHz packet digipeater, passing by in that timeframe. I will be on the air using my call sign WD9EWK. If you see or hear me on those passes, please call WD9EWK (or send an APRS message via 145.825 MHz). I will upload my contacts from this demonstration to Logbook of the World either tonight or tomorrow. SDX stops responding

Hello All, This is probably a windows issue but I'm curious if anyone else has seen it. I'm running windows 8.1 and about once a week or maybe two weeks I will see from the task manager that SDX has stop responding, closing satpc32 fails to kill it and I have to go in and manually kill it, I have tried many different serial ports usb/hard from the pc to the rotor controller, a different controller, running satpc32 as admin, running it in compatibility mode for win 7 was the only thing that "maybe" slowed it down a little. Have I missed something? anyone else ever see SDX stop responding? Thanks Kevin WA7FWF p.s. my first attempt to post this failed, sorry if this becomes a repeat.

Hi It looks like there is a problem where the nayif packets are sent to data.funcube.org.uk which forwards them to data.amsat-uk.org Could I ask users who solely use a Nayif-1 dashboard for it’s reception to try the data.amsat-uk.org url in the dashboard and let me know if your packets get through.
